1*The final selling points were: financing (0% for 72 months),
2* separate forward, reverse, and brake pedals

1*I'd sure like to see Kubota go with 0% for 72 months also.
2*I don't care for 2 pedals.
Why have to keep shifting your foot back and forth looking for the correct petal when with a single petal your foot is always on the right petal?
Also a 2 petal system scares me when dumping the loader out over banks and down into holes.
When my front wheels are right at going over the edge the last thing I want to do is take a chance on hitting the wrong petal and going head long over the bank or into the hole.
With a single petal you can't hit the wrong petal in a situation like that.
I have a CC GT 2554 garden tractor that has separate petals for forward & reverse and I fairly frequently hit the wrong one and go the wrong way.

Re: BX 24 and GC2410 CDN Pricing

Great point about the pedals, but from the demos I did at the dealers, I just found it easier for me to operate the 2 pedal system. I'm sure if I had the Kub, I would get used to it very quickly. Now that I think about it, I actually don't recall the Kub having a brake pedal???? Am I going nuts or does it have some kind of braking linked to the hydro pedal? I know the literature said it has a wet brake, so I'm assuming it is used for more than just parking. I really didn't seem to need the brake pedal w/ the hydro tranny but I'm sure it would be nice to have there if I was traversing a steep hill.

My new BX25 has the reverse pedal BEHIND the forward pedal, so I know I have to move my foot backward to reverse - very intuitive, and not likely to cause errors.

Re: BX 24 and GC2410 CDN Pricing

I ended up getting my BX25 for around $18,200 without the MMM. I was leaning toward the GC2410 but no one had one and they wanted almost $2000 more of the MF. I think the MF Dealers are getting it all wrong. I would have bought a MF if they were priced the same. In the end, I am very happy I went organge.

Cheers,

I got my new BX25 last month for $18,050 Canadian, including freight and dealer prep, and the 3-point hitch. A lovely tractor, and in my view a very reasonable price compared to the competition.

One nice thing about the GC2410 is the seperate brake pedal, so if your brain fails you and you step on the wrong pedal, hopefully you react fast enough with your left foot on the brake so as not to go driving into the hole.

Do the new BX25s have a seperate brake? That was one thing that worried me about the BX24, lack of a seperate brake pedal. Anyhow, to each his own, and each tractor has it's own pros/cons.

Re: BX 24 and GC2410 CDN Pricing

I have a BX1850 but I thing the brake is the same on all the BX's. The brake pedal is up above the forward motion pedal. I guess the concept is you can't push both the motion pedal and brake at the same time. Now if it had dual brakes, you'd want that capability. Before the BX, I had a JD X485 with the side by side pedals and I often hit the wrong one, a particular PITA when mowing and hitting the reverse pedal by mistake - instant PTO cut off. Solved that nonsense with the BX, no RIO switch preventing mowing in reverse.

I'm looking at 18900$ finance 0/24 for a bx 25 here in ottawa with 3pt and block heater... Would you Ontarians mind telling me where you purchased your bx's?

Thanks!
Andy

Re: BX 24 and GC2410 CDN Pricing

Andy,

I am here in Ottawa as well and I did the 0 for 30 back in September. My price was 18,850 with 0 for 30

This was for a BX25 with Block. 3Pt and Hooks on FEL Bucket. I also added a 48" BoxBlade for $750.00 and the 54"MMM for $2050.00

You can't go wrong with the BX25, I also have since added the BroTek SkidPlates and Thumb which is worth its weight in gold if you ask me.

I purchased mine from Marc Fisher with BT McFarlane. He was great to deal with.

Let me know how it goes.

Cheers,

Sorry - just saw this today. I bought mine from Kubota North in Bracebridge. John the owner is a nice fellow - very personable, and very accommodating. He even had someone come in on the weekend to meet me when I could only make it up from Toronto at that time to pick up the tractor after my 50 hr. service. (BTW, they just moved to a better location in Bracebridge, with more room.)

MacTractor, were your bucket hooks clamp on, or welded? I am looking at the bucket hooks from BXpanded, but the wait will be a while, and if I could get good clamp-ons here in Ontario, I would.
