Hi Guys. I am a new member and relatively new BX owner.
I made this front blade attachment for my BX1850 and it uses the rear 3pt hitch to raise the front blade. I use the mmm lever control to raise and lower the blade and I can use the deck height setting to even maintain the same blade height if I wish to not drag it. I have not tested it on snow as yet but in time I will find out how well it works. Hydraulics are not needed. I will need to angle the blade manually.

This year............
You are totally spoiled! You will be out there blowing snow in only a Tee shirt while the rest of us are out there with every piece of winter clothing we own and still freezing. Nice looking rig! Is that a new snowblower?

Nice homemade setup.
Couple questions.
Is the blade wide enough when angled?
How much snow do you get?
Seems like you will want to upgrade to a blower or blade on the back also, so can you use the 3pt hitch withou lowering the front blade?
And where are your ROPS????

The blade is 48" wide and it appears that it will be wide enough. It is an old craftsman that I converted. I put a 2" hitch receiver on the tractor and the blade slides into it.
We have had significant snowfalls here in southern Ontario over the last couple of years, so I am sure I will be testing it pretty good.
Yes I am not sure what I will be putting on the back as yet but have thought about a sander as well.
I took the ROPS off because the first time I mowed the lawn I went near a tree and it hit a large branch and the front of the tractor lifted. So now I can mow near the trees without have to be aware of the branches.

Wayne, thats what i keep telling my neighbors..... watch for me blowing snow in a pair of boxers and a tanktop
. I'll also have the tunes cranking! The blower came with the tractor, not new (from a dealer) but it had never been used. I just got done adding a diverter and hydraulic chute deflector, so i won't need to get out to make any adjustments. If it makes you feel any better...... i've eaten plenty of snow in past years!LBrown59

1*I have a 60 '' blade on this BX1500 an with it fully angled I would not want it to be any narrower.http://i283.photobucket.com/albums/k...9/100_2313.jpg
