my first time plowing yesterday went o.k.

I had a really similar experience recently. I've never mold board plowed as hayfields are only plowed about every 20 years here it seems. I hooked an old Kongslide spring reset 2 furrow semi-mount up to the Kubota and headed out.

The darned thing pulled really well although it tripped a few times on big rocks. When it went to deep the furrows didn't roll even though it has those furrow smoother things on it. (Sorry don't know many proper plow terms) The coulters did a good job keeping trash off the moldboards too.

I spent most of today plowing. I was back to plowing former CRP ground again and what a job. This ground had not been turned over for 25 years and is not well drained. On top of that my neighbor hauled in many tanker loads of pig manure and that didn't help with the traction. What a difference between plowing in that field and in my bean field, night and day.

Is it possible to plow with the left rear dual tire on. My neighbor does that on his mx255 case tractor. I would assume it helps with traction.

Yes it is possible and I've given it some thought. Dealing with those big tires would be a problem, a friend has offered to help mount them but we haven't made time for it yet. The tractor came with duals.
