Engine keeps on running

I have this Kubota L2900 GST, and last weeks it seems like the starter was the culprit. I took it out, rewire the starter from battery/ charger, and it didn't do anything. Took it to a shop to have it rebuilt. The guy over there checked it and told me it was some contacts that went bad (copper, in an L shape). Took 20 min to fix it. He even showed me the starter working (in the shop).

Came back home, checked again the starter with separate wires from battery, and it run ok. Mounted the starter on the tractor, started the engine and left the engine running for 10 min. Tried to stop the engine, by turning the key, even take the key out of the ignition switch, and STILL THE ENGINE KEPT RUNNING, WITHOUT THE KEY.

I choked the engine, and it stopped. But it will not start again, and I have no power showing at the board, nothing, completely dead.

What's wrong? Any suggestions?

Check fuel solenoid, check all fuses for power, make sure ground wire has good connection at frame . Ignition switch another culprit.

Might be a short from the "repaired" starter burned up the ignition switch?

Have you had the tractor long? Does the tractor normally shut off when you turn the key off? Is it diesel.

I have a B9200 HST Kubota, and turning the key to off, does not shut the engine down. I have to pull the injector pump lever to shut off fuel to kill the engine.

I found the culprit!

It was a 40 Amps "fuse", but it is probably a thermistor, which shuts off the power to the starter. I found it close to the wires next to the starter. It checked "ok" outside of the circuit, but as soon as I changed, everything worked ok.

This is a diesel, which I had for 4 years.

Seems like this post started with the engine not shutting down, then it went to the starter not working. I can understand the 40 amp fuse causing the starter problems , but once the engine was started, how did you shut the engine down, or does that 40 amp fuse circuit have anything to do with shutting the engine down? Does your Kubota shut off using the key, or do you have to pull a lever on the fuel injection pump?
