Hi:

The manual is murky to say the least. "Engage the front wheel drive only when the engine stops and do not shift if in drive."

Does the above mean that FWD can only be engaged when the engine is off? What about disengaging?

Thanks, Boulter

It means dont engange while in motion. Come to a complete stop and engage. same for disengaging. If it goes in a little hard you can use your loader and lift the front tire off the ground or drive forward slowly while engaging/disengaging. Just do not do it while driving fast.

This is a electronic 4wd, flip the switch so long as the rear wheel are not slipping (spinning)

The statement is very unclear but what they really want it to you to be completely stoped (not engine but the wheels) before enguaging the 4 wd.

Hi Guys:

Um, make that a DK40SE that I have. Presumably the same technology in both machines.

Thanks for clearing it up for me.

Boulter.

I haven't had any trouble or funny noises etc when hitting the 4wd switch while moving at a few miles/hr. Are we really supposed to stop?

With havivg close to 50 of these se series machines sold from my store I haven't had anyone brake anything in the front end and I know almost all have been shifting on the fly including myself.

I wonder if you could get a clarification issued from Kioti engineering on this by using your supremo dealership status. I find it very useful to just hit the electronic button selector while in motion rather than stopping as I used to with my CK20 manual 4wd selection. I suppose the other option, if Kioti really doesn't support on the fly shifting is to just leave it in 4wd except when on pavement.
