That's what I wanted to say, I could get full size machines around here for probably less than you paid for that but what would I do with them? put em in the yard. That's a good size, not to small or to large, is it 110V or 220.
Never really thought about owning a lathe or milling machine until just recently.

It's 110V 3/4HP. I figure it must weigh around 300-350lbs and only uses up a few square feet of shop space. I had to take it apart to remove it from the seller's basement. I hope to have it set up by the week end. My sons are really excited about it. They are both using milling machines in shop class at school.

I wish they had offered that when I was in school. I took welding and small engines, both of which have been very handy. We don't have a community college here so very hard to get some basic learning/experience now.

I bought a bench mill from MSC several years ago and it is accurate. I also mounted a lathe chuck on a modified collet and clamped the lathe tool in the vise. I bored the bearings for my mini hay press using this method. A very useful machine.
