New guy here and looking for my first tractor

Alright fellas, I finished the deal today. Couldn't stand the pressure I guess.....I caved into getting the BH65. So here is the final setup: 2620/364FEL/BH65/12" bucket/Optional valve kit. Total was $20960. I'm going to do some more searching before I get a toothbar and a bucket grapple.

On a side note I've had a couple of hiccups so far. First, two bolts came out of my seat, luckily I found both. Also I noticed that the hydraulic fluid was low. In fact, it was not even reading on the stick. It ended up that it was a quart and a half low, I just topped it off this evening.( I put 2 hours on it like that) The dealer gave me a gallon and is looking into who inspected it before delivery. On the up side, they did deliver the tractor for free and are going to pick it back up when the BH is in, install it and re-deliver for no charge.

Also I found a person who is going to come to my house to fill the tires with rimguard. He is charging $5/gallon and $25 to drive out. He is aprox 45 minutes away. I've been told that I'm looking at 15-18 gallons per tire.....sound correct? (I have the R4's)

Glad to here you got the BH up front. I know that is a tough decision. I also had some issues with the dealer prep on mine. Pay close attention to all the bolts on the sub frame when they put the BH on. Make sure they give you all the manuals including the assembly manuals, it makes it easier to know which bolts go where. There are a couple of places on the subframe that if they use the wrong bolt it will bottom out into the engine block instead of tighting up the subframe. Wasn't really a big problem, but when I spend that much money I do expect high quality work, especially from professionals.

I just got a quote Monday for Loading my R4 tires (12-16.5) with rimguard. I looked it up and they did also and we both came up with 15 gal. per tire. They said their price was around $2.30 to $2.50 per gal. and a flat charge of $25 per tire to fill. I have to take the tractor to them and they will fill the tires while on the tractor, while I wait. They are a commercial tire place not my Kubota dealer. I only plan on putting in about 10 gal. per tire. I want to add ballast for stability. I read somewhere on here about only filling up to the axle, which puts all the weight below the axle for better stability. Seems to make enough since to me plus I mow with mine and don't want too much extra weight.

Thanks for the heads up. I mentioned to the fellow who delivered it that he may be coming back to pick it up to add the backhoe. His response "oh really?, we haven't put a BH on one of these yet." Maybe I ought to go with the tractor and watch them install it.

I did roll up under the tractor and inspect the bottom to see if I saw anything else that needed attention. They mentioned to me that perhaps I already had a leak, which could explain the low oil. That does not appear to be the case. Either it was low from the factory and they did not check or they lost some while installing the FEL.

That's a good point about installing the front end loader. They would have to fill 4 cylinders off your hydraulic system. It will probably be worse when they install your BH. It has 6 cylinders on it that will need filled with oil.

Correction ! I believe the bolts I found were on the loader frame. I spent the better part of a day going over every bolt and nut for the FEL, BH and MMM (and MMM setup) when I got my tractor, when I noticed a few oddities.

I made some more calls today on the rimguard and found it at a deere dealer in Seymour, IN. The will do it for $3/gallon, no extra charges. I will have to take the tires to them however. Since I can't haul the tractor yet, I would have to take the wheels off and haul them. This would save me around $90 bucks, but it will cost me some time and gas. What would you do?

I rolled under it again and the FEL appears to have all the correct bolts in it.

I went ahead and pulled the wheels off tonight as I plan to take them to have them filled tomorrow. I did find another "error". 3 of the wheel studs were cross threaded and the nuts were hard to get off. I will be calling my dealer tomorrow to have some new ones put in when the BH gets installed.

Do you have a way to unload the tires and get them back on the tractor once they are filled? They will weigh over 200# each.

Don't know how close to Seymore you are, but gas prices are pretty low right now.
