Rear Blade very, very strong rear blade

Not to jump the thread but any thoughts on Woods rear blades? I've got a line on a used 5' (model RB5 I think). Should fit my BX just right. I'm looking at it on Friday. I generally hear good things about Woods so I'm assuming sight unseen that it is well made.

I have a 7ft.Heavy duty(yellow)king kutter that I have used for about 3 years now with no issues.I had bought the low end KK 7ft. model (blue)that only lasted about 1-2 years.coobie

I have the 7 foot yellow KK that was rated for at least 75 hp, possibly more. My 68 hp and at slow ground speed and low engine speed have pull it loose at I think 3 different weld joints, pull metal tubing apart the blade mount welds to that rotates (that tubing is only like 1/8" think and the blade mount welds to it). If I were running with any speed and hit something that would be a different matter totally. The tubing just peeling and then realizing it was only about 1/8 inch finished any respect I have for it. Should have realize when it was rated at the HP it was sold to be and it had Cat 1 pins the rating was not honest. Maybe they improved it since I bought mine about 7 years ago. It will cut dirt, it will roll dirt.

I have a Woods 8ft blade in VGC. I am in Michigan. I can make you a good deal. It has only been used for plowing my drive in winter.

If you are going to really use your blade I don't believe that you will find a new one that will have a chance of holding up for less than $3000. My first rear blade was an 8 footer made buy Mid West Implements. My dealer thought that it would be fine for me. It bent the first time that I used it and while I continued to use it for 3 more years, it continued to bend and I have finally given up on it and went with a Land Pride model. My RBT45108 cost me just under $3500 and that was without any hydraulics. I am adding those myself.
Good luck with whatever brand that you get.

Ok, run to the cupboard and get a plastic glass.
Now put in 5 oz of single malt scotch and 3 ice cubes.
Put the glass just out of arms reach by the computer.

All I can say is that you best check the shed, after all that booze, you may have done bought the 2500!

I would think that a Woods 5 footer would be just right on a BX HP and wheel coverage. You might want to see how tall that Woods is. Make sure that your BX has enough lift so the blade clears the ground while in transport.
