The older I get the uhhmm.. darker it gets at night:D

The trapazoid walmart brand work lights are not enough while trying to trench with the BH at night.

I found these at Gemplers: Double-beam, Rectangle Work Light (Bracket Mount) - GEMPLER'S..

I went ahead and ordered them, I may have to run bigger wire and a relay to get the full benefit..

Will post results after I get them installed..

Run 14ga wire and a relay and all should be good.

Two lights will pull about 9.16 amps at 12VDC.

The two bulb lights you selected will draw about 9 amps each. Some tractors have a pretty small alternator, you can overload pretty quickly with lights like these. I like the work lights from John Deere. They only draw about 4 amps and have a great light pattern. MUCH better than the Walmart lights. I believe someone here said they are made by Hobbs.

I bought these

3"x5" Lens Tractor/Work Light (Trapezoidal Beam) - GEMPLER'S

My major grievance is about the bulbs. They do not last long and they are not easily found in my local auto shops. I found them online with higher wattage.....

Can't tell by the Gemplers ad, but do these use actual bulbs, or sealed beams? The sealed beams can be a little hard to find, and cost more, and a lots that use them ship out without halogen type sealed beam units, the halogens are easier to find. If it uses the H3 bulb with the bullet connector vs the flat blade, they are usually found in the emergency lighting section, as they seem to be more commonly used there. H3's come in 35, 55, and 100 watt in 12 volt versions.

Yeah, I believe they take H3 bulbs. Through a fluke I ended up with a couple extra and have used the bulbs out of those but will have to buy new ones shortly. I have not had much luck finding H3 locally but have not really scrounged.

Thanks for the replies guys.. I am wondering now if the alt. will have a problem with the ~18 amps the rear work lights will pull...

I may turn off ( while using B/H) the front work lights and headlamps to take some of the load of the charging system..

Maybe time for an alt. upgrade :D
