Just wondering how many owners are out there and how long have you had your tractors? and how reliable have they been?

A search here finds a number of posts on the LK [which Ive read all of them]but not many compared to the CK.

I have a 2004 LK 3054 XS TLB.

I've got 200 hours on the machine.

I've owned for almost a year and put 5o of the 200 hours on the machine.

I've replaced the brake light switch under the brake pedal, I've replaced a rear spot light and will be replacing the rear brake light bulb.

She starts up in the coldest of weather. The loader is strong and the backhoe works great. I really really like the way the backhoe mounts onto the machine, the frame mount is set up real well and when on, the backhoe is up high and tight to the machine. The machine does not have the cross bars that you typically see running under the machine to tie into the loader, rather the sub frame bolts up to the loader frame in a slightly different manner. As a result I've got real good clearance under the machine.

The loader and hoe are both quick disconnect.

The three point works great and is very strong.

The shuttle shift works smooth.

Not a sophisticated machine, but simple to run, own and maintain.

I really like this machine and am happy with my choice. The simpler the better for me. After owning a 1973 or so Kubota, I grew to like simple.

I also like the hydraulic steering on the machine.

I look forward to each chance I get to operate the machine.

Ask any questions, glad to respond.

I think there is very little if any difference between my machine and the new LK30's.

sincerely,
Joel

I have an older 1999 model LK3054 and I am very happy with it. I've only had it about 1.5 years but it has done everything I wanted. It's a little beat up and had been abused some by previous owners, but it works as hard as I ask it to. I'm slowly working over the creative wireing that was done before I got it, but with the help of the good folks on this site, I've managed to get a working alternator going again. I can't see why you would be dissapointed with either model.

Not sure if its my imagination, but my bucket seems to be of thicker steel than some others I've seen.

Always good to here about the previously owned beat up tractors, gives the impression they take a licking and keep on ticking. You would expect a new tractor to work 100% but what about after years of hard work, which is why Ive posted the thread.
Doesn'T seem to be many owners but the few there are seem very impressed with the LK, I guess the old simple look turns a lot of people off, me I like the look, simple, not much to break, crack, short out, seize up or come apart and a whole lot less $ for not having all those potential problems.
Thanks for the replies, hope a few more come along ;)

OK, I'll chime in too. I've got an original first year issue LK3054 - 1993. It was pretty beat up when I got it and I threw a connecting rod in the engine before I had a chance to rebuild it. I opted to replace the engine figuring I'd keep the machine until I'm in the ground.

I work it pretty hard and have no complaints. It does everything I ask of it and sometimes more. I'd give a much more positive review if I didn't have to replace the engine, but it's not the machine's fault just the former owners/ operators. I'll take good care of her now.

Search on my past posts to see pictures on my repaint & canopy addition.

I think it is safe to say that Kent knows about as much about these machines as anyone.

I started mine up today, 25 degrees F., glow plugs for 40 seconds or so and she started right up first try.

Lk2554 for five years now. 500 hours. Works great. Replaced leaking water pump a year ago, no big deal. I work it very hard and it's been worth every penny.
