I have hopes that the rake will separate rocks well from newly dug tractor paths.

It should do that nicely, the tine spacing on mine are 2" on center (1" gap between tines) I have found when angled it acts more like a blade than a rake. I think removing every other tine to increase gap may be more effective at separating rocks from dirt. In the rock raking video, you can see quite a bit of dirt piling up windrowing off to the side. Not exactly the effect I was hoping for. That is why I believe increasing tine spacing may work better at rock / dirt separation. Next time I want to try removing every other tine and see how that works.

Larry,

No worries. You guys are giving me ideas!!

If you ever want to build me an 8' rake that angles & rotates, just shoot me a price. I might take you up on it.

On the front mount rakes: Believe it or not, FFL makes a front mount rake for my CASE backhoe. It's a big mama-a 10 footer with 2 guide wheels. I believe it is power angling, too. It's about $3,500!!

Hey Builder - I'm honored you like my home built rake and would consider letting me build one for you. What TPH mounting do you have, CAT 1 or CAT 2? anything you want custom other than the features I have incorporated? I would prefer not to powder coat it though as that was a real PITA, but do-able if you really want powder coating. Angle and rotation are controlled by one long cylinder, a shorter cylinder offsets it about the TPH axis. Mine is a 7 footer if you want an 8 footer I would need to know the distance from back of rear tires to center of drag link pin holes and a few pics of the TPH setup on your tractor. You got two rear hydraulic remotes to control the cylinders? It will take me 2 to 3 months to build in my spare time as I still have a day job (for now) your not in a hurry are you? What brand and HP is your tractor (just curious)?

Of course you were kidding - I knew that. Another gear box to make it rotate 360* would have cost me my first born (maybe not such a bad deal after all ? ;)) because they are twins!. I still owe Rob for life for the last one he built me.

That's a good idea. I thought your video showed very effective rock-raking,
even if you picked up some dirt, too. Let us know if removing every other
tine is more effective. Maybe I will try that, too.
