Hi everyone,
A few pictures to show how the small Satoh tractors for the Japanese markets, much alike the US 'Beaver' models, became Mitsubishi models after 1980.
These pics come from adverts on the Net (apart those showing my own St 1510D), I hope their authors won't complain about my using them.
Please react in order to complete this attempt.

Yes and it didn't take me long to get used to it especially after I found out I could get more seat time without it killing my seat;)

hi phil

That's my Satoh ST-1510D tractor and Mitsubishi tiller you have there! That is, it's identical to mine to look at. I bought mine second hand from my next door neighbor recently for $1500 with slasher and carry-all and tiller. Chasing a manual at the moment; seems if they were re-badged Mitsubishi they used different model numbers. In the meantime can you help me...a dumb question I know but...can I use normal car engine oil in this little diesel tractor; and does the oil go in the oil level indicator inlet (ie where the level is shown on the dipstick).
Sorry for such simple questions' I'll try to ask smarter ones next time. Hope the aussie lingo doesn't confuse you.

By the way, the tractor's a little ripper!

Welcome to TBN Jamie, :)

Like Leonard said "You need to use a diesel oil. "

The oil used in diesel engines is API rated "C" as in CD or CF etc..gas engines have a API "S" rating : SL or SM etc. Some motor oils are rated for both gas and diesel engines..here's a more complete explaination I found on a car forum...Oil labelling explained: Motoring Technical matters forum

As to where the oil fill is located on your tractor..I'm not familiar with your model..hopefully someone else can help...
I would make a suggestion that you start a new thread in this forum with the heading " help with info Satoh ST-1510D " ..a member with a similar tractor will be more likely to check it out...also getting a repair manual will be a big help .

Good luck....

Good luck
