Yikes! Is it Winter where you are?

I had to say something on this one: Where and how can I get a green card to get out of here? I would like to worry about putting the air conditioning in my tractor cab (that I don't have BTW). I usualy don't mind winter that much but this year is just too much for me. Ya ya, "get a blower, its fun" -- but only if I could find one... Does anyone has a spare one lying in the back yard?

Cheers and enjoy the warm weather!

Max

No need for a green card apparently, since our gummit doesn't ever kick anyone out. Just drive on down.:)

Winter? Not really. A couple of nippy nights, but so little snow that the snowmobile trails are still not open. Lot's of unhappy sledders.

(If you are on a 150 hp machine that goes 0 to 125 mph in 5 seconds, you are "sledding".
If you are on a piece of plastic or wood/metal going down a hill at 15 mph then having to trudge back up for the next go round, you are "sliding". I didn't know that when I first moved here!)

The last month or so has been rough 70 one day 28 for the high the next fog and drizzle. Nice to see it is gonna be warm enough to ride my motorcycle to work this week.... great esp since Santa brought me a new leather jacket and helmet. :)

Ken where are you located?? in just north of Corpus Christi , and the weather is perfect outside

We played a regional championship basketball game where we beat San Isidro at Odem's gym back in 1993. We're between Victoria and Houston here.

Your nippy nights are a little bit different from mine down here. ;) I was up in Madison< WI for 2 weeks last September, November and this past January. My wife flew up the last week for our graduation ceremony so we went snow-tubing and skiing at Cascade Mountain. When she stepped off the plane it was -16. She was like what the he!!. It was fun up there but man I was glad to get back to Texas. I left 9 degree weather to go to 65 degree weather back home, that sure was nice. I don't have enough clothes for that sort of weather. We saw about 11" of snow in 2004 and first time we actually saw snow since the late 70's or early 80's. We still have pictures of our Allis-Chalmers 8030 or 7045 delivery with snow on the ground.

As a truck driver, I used to drive mostly in a five state area around Lousy-ana; now having leased to an "over the road" carrier, I'm getting a taste of what some of you fight every winter. Last week, I was delivering to Crystal Lake, slightly northwest of Chicago when they were predicting around 5" of snow, and temps were 12-15 degrees F.
Arriving at the delivery site about 6:30 p/m, I spent the night in my truck; had a heck of a surprise when I poked my head out of the sleeper that a/m and saw all that snow. First question of the morning to myself was "What the **** are you doing here???????"
You "northerners" have my respect, and sympathy!!!!!

For what it's worth, I too got a taste of Texas, living in Fannin (so. of Victoria), from 1996 to 2002. I'd go back in an instant, if I could.

I am getting a little worried about our trip home on Sunday to the UP of Michigan.

You should be worried. The weather here and in the UP has been brutal. We have had three feet of snow in the past week and today it warmed up and started raining.

I spent the past two days snowblowing and shoveling. Today was the worst as I had to shovel three feet of wet heavy snow off my tent trailer and truck cap.:(

Yeah, I'm pissed too at the rain and warm. Went to get the trash from the shop and found 2/3 of the floor covered with slush up to 1" thick. Rain and melt from the roof piled up and back washed under the walls, across the cement then under the walls and into the shop. Grrr.
