So when your plate gets stolen, the thief gets a valid inspection as well. Makes no sense to me. Inspection stickers are much more visible on the windshield. While you are at it, put a plate on the front of those NC vehicles, too.
Off subject, apologies, but since talking about NC per motor vehicles, I found it interesting that for 2009, all motor vehicles in NC will not have an inspection sticker on the front, left bottom portion of the windshield, but on the license plate instead.
Actually makes some sense.
Per the "proof of insurance" topic, without some sort of data base exchanging information between the state and insurance companies, what's from stopping someone to "buy" car insurance, get their "proof of insurance" card from the insurance company, and then cancell their policy?
It's not that expensive. If they can afford a cell phone, they can afford insurance. Just get rid of the cell phone if it's that difficult.
Not exactly on the license plate sticker, they are coordinating the inspection stickers to match the plate expiration- see
Hmm- my 21 year old son's cell phone is about $30 a month, his liability only insurance is $300 a month in SC, for a 10 yr old Ranger pickup.
