Nobody has mentioned the imported Japanese minitrucks in 2 and 4x4 drive. I've seen advertisements from 2500 for a used 2wd to 10k for a new 4x4 model. I also notice there are dealers starting to pop up around the country. Enclosed cabs with heaters and optional AC, auotmatics and manual trans.

The Kaws are tough as nails ,several of my customers (schools and colleges) have them in the grounds and maintenance depts. They don't get babied and they guys I talk to love them, much handier and more manueverable than the JD gator. I think the gator is over priced too.

A dealer in CT can sell me the 2009 Trans Mule diesel for $10,800, sound good.

Taxes should be minimal since it can be an ag. vehicle.

I've thought about the mini trucks myself. Great fuel economy, 6' dump bed, AC, and easily accessorized with gaining popularity in US. And they have a real transmission, not belt driven!

Sounds like a good price. That is before tax though, correct?

Yes, one dealer told me straight up his cost on the unit is $10,300, he adds $500 and sells them. Sounds fair.

Taxes should be minimal since it can be an ag. vehicle.

I do not have a farm, tax is something like 8.5%, the dealer is only one state over, will charge me no tax, and ship here for free.

We're lucky here in New Hampshire... we have no sales tax! (or income tax, for that matter) :)

I picked up a Curtis 72" plow that was on a Mule 3010 for $425, just need mount and winch to whichever utility vehicle I choose. Plow was used once, looks to be in great shape and fairly HD.

*I am usually all for diesel (nearly everything I own is diesel powered), but for short trips a gasser could be fine, even better for start and go, especially in cold weather.
*Then go for a diesel and run off road in them all.

I looked at this, but ended up buying a new Kawasaki 3010 diesel instead. I'm a devoted Kubota fan (have an L2250 & TG1860..both diesel) but found the RTV to be overkill for my needs. Since I trailer my 3010, the added weight (500#) of the RTV made it less attractive. Add to that the almost $3G price differential, it was a no-brainer. I also thought all the hydraulic business of the RTV made it more complex than it needed to be. (unless you have a need for them) The Daihatsu diesel in my 3010 is a real work horse, and starts instantly. Granted, I only have 23 hrs. on the clock, but I expect it will probably outlast me. :)
