Is this Tractor worth Buying?

With the FarmTrack woes going on, would you still buy this tractor?

I already have a Long 360 DTC with a FEL but would like to get something bigger.

The 360 tractor is ok, but I feel the loader could use some serious beefing up.

Does anyone else own a similar FarmTrack with Pros/Cons?

as a Farmtrac owner I would recommend another tractor that has parts available. With no parts available, around here anyway, you will be on you own. My neighbor has a Farmtrac 60 just as mine and his has been down since last summer with bad tranny problems (gears/bearings complete with grinding/crunching sounds). Non of the area dealers of any brand will touch it. He has a small feed mill and does custom grinding. He does have another 85-90 hp FNH tractor so he's not shut down completly.

The 8075 is a pretty nice tractor. The engine is Perkins, the trans and front diff are Carrerro. Not much you would have to rely on Farmtrac for in parts. You can get a great buy on one of these. If you are interested, PM me and I'll tell you what I sold the one we had in stock for. There are a few around the ex farmtrac dealers that are still in business, and more will probably show up at Montana dealers soon. You can probably get one of these for what you would pay for a chinese tractor this size.

How many years can you park a new tractor and still sell it for new?

A 2006 is starting to look somewhat old for a new tractor in 2009.

There's a New Holland dealer about 45 miles from me who still has 2 1999 New Holland 3930 4wd tractors on his lot, one has accumulated 26 hours from being started and moved around, the other has about 85 hours, it has a loader and has been used to move implements around on the lot. These machines have been there since 1999, they were moved from the new tractor section of the lot to the used section 2 years ago. The dealer had 5 of these tractors still in 2006, 3 in 2007, and now has 2. Here is a link to his web site, the 3930's are incorrectly listed as having 1 hour. If anyone needs operator manuals, there are several for Ford and New Holland listed for sale, as well as other equipment. Used Tractors and Skidsteers

A tractor is new when it is sold to its first retail owner. Tractors dont have model years like cars. They do have a manufacturing date.

That may be true but you as a dealer better tell the customer the "manufacturer date" to protect yourself from future lawsuits--- it does and has happened-----misinformation is as bad as no information---- Dealers know the exact date that the tractor was manufacturer by the information stamped on the tractor----stamps don't lie people do!!!!!----if that information is not date stamped on the tractor you better not buy it-----

I ran into the same thing with a local dealer selling a 5 year old compact at a new price.....although it looked pretty rough from sitting outside. They'll never sell it.
Not to mention looking up a used tractor in one of the "blue books".....they DO break it down year by year, with each year depreciating.
