Actually, Tim the Tool Man has some good ideas there. :) Why not a 5 hp garbage disposal? It would chew up anything! The truth here is that there is NO WAY I was going to pull of the FEL and subframe every Nov and put it back every April. I had to do this. Well, I felt I had to. As to the engine size, I wanted bigger but only could get this 16 for cheap.

Just back from dinner in Salem NH, going out to the fire pit with nephew to greet the storm.

Best to you Wedge...and all.

PS Pretty sure the music will be George... "Born to be Bad"

George it is.

Thank you for your terrific suggestion!

Looks like bostonrats has sent his snow up into central NH!

5" so far, and still coming down hard... guess I know what I'll be doing later...:D Glad I did the maintenace on the blower & drivetrain yesterday afternoon!

No, I don't have a frankenblower-- the "little red beast" will handle it nicely, however. (But I have to admit, that bostonratsblower looks mighty powerful! Hmmm... maybe I should try music...)

Hi IrvingJ!

How far up are you? I'm at the MA/NH boarder....wish I was north of it!! Here's the latest video!

Rats....you Sir, are one distinguished redneck! ....Frankenblower is a fine contraption. While it's fine as it is, if you decide to re-power, I vote for a 440 snowmobile engine....see if you can get 200 feet out of it ;-)

What I'd really like to see are some photos of the mechanicals and hook up...pretty please?

And as far as Jethro Tull, may I suggest an old live album called "Bursting Out". It is simply Ian Andersen at his flamboyant best. The dude is a "couple sandwiches short of a picnic" to begin with but this album takes the cake. The most dynamic, hard-rocking thing they ever put out....one of those albums that must be played from start to finish, perfect road trip tunes. Any Tull fan should own this!

Hello 53 Gravley!

I almost put a snowmobile engine on, the biggest problem is the huge pipes they have. I think they have tapered shafts also. Looks like we think alike. On Tull, I went from Elvis Presley to Elvis Costello in one big jump...missed most of what is between. I do like Aqualung howerver. I went with George as per previous suggestion.

The new clutch has a problem, I think it's a defective coil, I smelled epoxy burning. I have to take it apart and see what happened. I might put the old coil in, or just weld up the old one for now and have no clutch if I need to send it back as defective.

My Sony camcorder messed up too, it was a bad day for gear. KubotainNH broke a belt...seems like it was in the air.

Check out the new video, I end it with a message to this board. ;)
, Best to all!

53gravely, Lawr can get a bit over the top...you should try working with him ;-)
On the first page of this thread he lists a link to the build of the snowblower. Interesting process.

George? George Thorogood and the Delaware Destroyers??? I've seen the man live at many venues...one of the hardest rocking masters of them all. "How Sweet It Is" Maybe gear jammer? I think you might be on to something.

For the other suggestions, THANK YOU! I like lots of music but George just might fit here.

His bass player was my neighbor. I've met Lonesome George a few times in person. Not my favorite kind of music, but they can rock.

FYI, "...you should try working with him" is literal / true. :p KobotainNH & I work together 5 nights a week. Tractor talk keeps the night moving fun & fast. (my G-d what have we become??? :eek:}

All I can say is "wow". That is one of the best bands in the world. Do you know about the 50-50 tour? George has atletic type power/stamina, every show I ever say left me exhausted and I wasn't the one on stage? George is on a small list. But gee wiz, this is about TRACTORS! Low geared, bulletproof, rip a fire hydrant out of the ground, flip over on a dime's shadow, still runing without a rebuild since 1941, solid axles as thick as your arm, TRACTORS! ...but if we divert a few degrees at least it's not about politics or other impossible to solve riddles.

Hey now...No qualms with George. Saw him back in the mid 90's. The man puts on a great show.

Thanks KubotainNH--I was so enthralled with Frankenblower ( "It's alive. It's ALIVE!!!)videos, I missed the build photos link.

Keep up the fine work!

I think Frankenblower rocks, could be a viable marketable attachment IMO.
Get the whole platform to mount to a quick tach plate, all you would need is electric lines to control it run up to operator, the whole thing would be off and on in the time it takes to swap a bucket.

Of course the 18-20 hp power plant makes it expensive but so is everything else that's so convenient, people would buy it.

The name Frankenblower has me envisioning the thing breaking free of it's chains and going on a rampage like "Kill Dozer" anyone remember that one?

I'm now using the prefix "franken" to describe some of my contraptions!!! Thanks.

JB.

I witnessed quite a few "jam sessions" and went to see him in State College PA and this little place called "The Deer Park" which is a night club in George's old stomping grounds in Wilmington, DE. Lonesome George used to like to cruise our neighborhoods in an old Checker Taxi cab. He can play a mean guitar and can play it with his mouth and toes, too.
