I turned my Mahindra into a T-Rex today!

Hi Brandi,

I have always thought that this Tractor has a problem with its lift. I need to get it to the dealer and have it checked.

The problem is that there is not any way to know how much thew things picked up with a grapple weighs. I do know that it stalls if I dig in a little bit while trying to load.

Thanks,
JiRobbi

JiRobbi,
My 84 inch loader bucket on my 6520 4WD weighs, as I remember, 752 pounds. One problem is a grapple is way forward of the pivots, where the advertised weights are calculated.
See if your dealer has any large known weight to lift.
Also, search the Mahindra forums for past threads. We had a long one last year I think it was on what you are experiencing.

hugs, Brandi

This grapple is supposed to weigh around 800lbs so I was thinking since it was close to the weight of the bucket I would be ok. I went wider instead of narrower as I will have a lot of thorny brush to rip out which should weigh less but the extra size should capture more and better protect the tire path.

With this tractor I have so much lift that the rear tires will come off the ground if I get too agressive. And that is with an 800lb box blade on the back!

I am going to take my front weights off for a while to see how that works. I have never had my loader off and I really don't plan on it so it probably has weight enough.

Tim,
How come you doing have your 511 backhoe on back? That would give your 1600-1800 pounds ballast.

Sometimes I do. But I am also on hills so the backhoe can make it top heavy in storage position. But that is probably how I'll use it this spring. dig trees out and over and move brush with the grapple. The nice thing about my 8' box blade is it is heavy and I can drop it to the ground for protection if things are getting tippy.

I will frequently swing my hoe to the uphill side to prevent tipping, and if it is really steep I extend it and keep it low to the ground.

Brandi, I hope that you are right about the weight of the bucket, because if you are, then I am a lot stronger than I ever realized. But I think that the buckets are lighter than that, I can move mine around manually without much of a problem. My guess would be 400lbs tops, and I doubt that much. Maybe rback will see this and let us know for sure.

ok.... I am not sure where you guys are weighing your buckets, but our 102" High Capacity, Grapple ready bucket weighs 875#. Your buckets don't compare to that one at all. Our 84" skid steer bucket is about 375 IIRC.

Good deal, I was starting to think that I was the HULK  and didn't know it.

Jeremy,
I don't know where that figure came from.
Brian,
Going Green on us now, uh?
