hauling hay

I posted this on another forum as well but I just had to share how well the truck did hauling 21K of hay and 6K of trailer.....my truck is a srw but it hauled the 27K really well, for ag (at least what I was told) you can have up to 10K per axle including the trucks rear axle anyhow here's a pic

I guess if you stay off the roads with that overweight load you're OK. You'd get pulled over and ticketed in a heartbeat in my neck of the woods with that load.

This is what some of the loads I haul look like. If the F-450 won't haul it my '59 White will. I asked a few state troopers and sheriff's deputies about large hay loads and as long as it is for ag use they won't stop you. I've been passed by several troopers and they don't take a second look. Weight-wise I'm okay, just overwidth by about a foot.

looks like any other 3/4 ton/1 ton with a gooseneck and round bales in these parts.

the truck has the 496 with the allison....while not a diesel I was very pleased with it's performance.....while I've seen others pull this kind of weight before it's the first time I've done it (this is the first winter for me to have cows).

Ive heard good things about the big block but I dont know if i would want to put gas in it.same with the 6.0liter i love them but im glad i got the Dmax great for plowing.Very nice truck though id like to get a 3500 ext cab long bed one day.
