I should have added the woods backhoe to the bill :)
Now I have to make another trip up there.

We could have told you that! A BH on the CK20 turns it into a remarkably powerful tool. But buyer beware, if you make another trip to the Wallace Palace of Tractors don't expect to leave with just a backhoe. You will be enticed by a variety of implements and willing helpers to load them into your vehicle. Rick's other name is Pied Piper of Tractor Implements.

You will for example need a QA adapter unless your new one came with it. If it came with it then clearly you will need either a grapple or 4n1 or boom pole or plow or even (don't ask me how I know....) an adapter that allows you to use 3PT implements on the FEL. (Love using the rake while moving forwards:)).

It is best to take a chaparone or if necessary your CFO. Another trick is to pay for the BH by phone in advance with a credit card or bank check and then leave all your cards at home before traveling to visit Rick. Most of us are limited by the size of our trunks but you will be at high risk if you go back with a truck. Some guys even go so far as to only drive small compact cars when they visit Rick. Do whatever it takes to avoid the siren song of beautiful orange implements calling your name.

You've been warned. There is no hope for you if you go back to Wallace Tractor with an open mind and wallet. However, if you choose to behave opposite to our advice, we will just let you into Rick's tractor addicts anonymous club (which Rick refers to as Part I of his bailout plan).

Before you go with the Woods, take a look at the Kioti BH. I think it's 2365 or 2375. When I was shopping, I really like the CK20 TLB, but went for the
BX24. No regrets I wanted the easy on and off with a MMM. The CK20 was hard to turn down. As a TLB, you'll be very happy.

===============

It's now called a Kioti KB2465 curved boom backhoe and it's great. It can dig to 6 1/2' and it attaches very quickly. I have removed dozens of stumps with mine without a glitch and no leaks with 317 hours on the tractor.

As an added attraction it comes already painted Kioti Orange unlike some of the aftermarket models.................

And please, please Mr Brown, return to your haunt in the Kubota forum. We welcome any constructive thoughtful participation from outside the Kioti interest group but your comments are nearly always inane, misinformed or worthless. Kindly go build up your post count somewhere else.

I am standing and applauding this wonderful response.

If I were doing it over I'd be torn. I had a KB2365 on my CK20. I have seen the KB2465 mounted on a CK20 and think it is a major upgrade from the 2365 (more important things than the curved boom). My 2365 served me well and I never had any problem with it. However, I also now own a Woods BH90X on my DK40se and must say that Woods makes a very fine product. I've never compared the Woods BH70x to the KB2465 spec for spec and that might identify some differences. One advantage of the Woods is the Woods company technical backup which is pretty available and direct while Kioti just has their regular customer service as I believe the KB2465 is built by a subcontractor to Kioti in Korea. Otherwise I'd say that they both are excellent choices and will both dramatically increase the range of tasks you can accomplish with your CK. Luckily Rick carries both brands so he is in a good position to give you an relatively unbiased view of the pros and cons (so long as you buy one or the other from him:))

It is amazing how strong even a small backhoe is (compared to what you are used to from the big case). I personally think it is one of if not the most useful implement. Really rounds off a small machine.

As for Brown, I hate to step on this landmine, but I for one like all points of view. Never hurts to be challenged, sometimes I learn the most from those who call things into question.

I'm getting ready for another foot of snow Wednesday, this snow and ice stuff is getting a little old, but then again, any excuse to pull out the tractor is a good excuse.

Looking forward to summer though, then can start diggin again.

Sincerely,
Joel

Even driving small compact cars does not help.
Did you know that you can get a toothbar and canopy for a CK30 in a VW Golf??!! :) Although a front mount 3pt adaptor won't fit, along with the TB and canopy. :(
IT- glad to hear you are putting my 3pt front mount adaptor to good use. :D

It was you I was referring to Jim. As Rick, you and I know, the only reason I got the adapter rather than you was that there was no way to fit it in your car with everything else you had already purchased. I on the other hand had arrived by SUV so was able to cram the adapter in. Works great.
