Wallace Tractor

Congratulations, I also found Rick during the purchase process, I also ended up buying used near my house.

I never forgot the help Rick gave me in making my decision, I went in eyes wide open.

Rick has also helped me with technical issues and questions, graciously spending his valuable time on the phone with me answering questions and helping me trouble shoot the couple of minor issues I've run into.

As a result of the above, I've purchased all of my filters from Rick (gladly paying shipping charges), parts, purchased a draw bar for my machine (paid shipping), trenching bucket for my backhoe, woods box blade, etc, which I picked up (drive 200 miles each way) at the annual Wallace Cookout Rick holds for his customers during the summer. Finances permitting there'll be other implement and accessory purchases this summer.

Seems silly to me that I'd bring my business anywhere else.

Note on the transportation matter. I think its safe to say that based on experience there are few who know any more about trailering tractors and implements than Rick. As a matter of fact Rick had the PA state police at last year's cookout giving towing and trailering instruction and advice. I can't think of anything in it for Rick to missguide a customer should something go wrong.

Sincerely,
Joel

SlackD- Congradulations on the new toy.. have fun and be safe.

As far as loading it in the box truck... I don't know about Ryder, but the last 2 times I rented a UHaul box truck... it specifically stated in the contract that putting a motorized vehicle in the truck was not allowed. Not that it stopped me from moving my car cross country inside a UHaul box truck, twice. :)

No seat time yet,
We had it chocked front/back and sides.
also had a HEAVY duty ratched strap over the front.
The machine was not going to move in normal transport.
Now if I rolled the truck or had a head on with a semi it would prob come loose. I drove 50 mph in the right lane and very Conservatively on the way home. When I got home I extended the lift gate and backed it up to a hill on my property and drove it out.

In a way I am glad Wallace is 5 hours away, or I would be broke :)
I plan on picking up a woods BH70-X as soon as cash permits.

Wallace seems like a class act judging from all the posts I've read since joining this site. Kioti is not very well represented here in Wisconsin yet but if I were to buy one a long distance dealer like Wallace is what I would look for. Sounds like he really takes care of his customers.

That shows just how much Rick & Co. care about what they do, and their customers.

A Class act.

1**Do you really think that Rick would have let him head off to Maryland if he didnt think it was safe?
1**Can't say one way or the other.
But I can say I've never seen anyone here endorse hauling a tractor in a box truck.

Maybe everything you've read is related to rolling loads. Non-rolling, i.e.
2*chocked in all directions.

,tractors in crates, etc, have different restraining requirements especially in an enclosed
truck/trailer. MikeD74T
2*How many on here would secure your tractor on your trailer just by placing 2x4s across in front of the front and rear tires and along the tires on each side.

Makes me wonder if Ryder even knows what he hauled.

Sheesh....guys like you makes a person just want to pound his head on the desk. Nevermind that the person was thrilled with his purchase.....and was thrilled with the service from the dealer. NOPE, got to be the old curmudgeon.
I really didn't see any harm in pointing out any safety issues .

Last time I rented one, nobody asked, what I was going to haul in it,[but that was several years ago].Its desil not gas so that part wouldn't make much sense,as long as none leaked out.As far as securing it,looks like it can't go backwards or forwards, mighta coulda used a chain stopping the sideways part, but it wouldn't a went far even if tiller scooted all the way to side, probably not even enough to tell driving it.Seen much more dangerous things going down the road many many times, with state police watching them go on.

First off I would never jepadorize anyones safety just to make a sale.
I have been in the trucking industry all my life without a single incident.
I have hauled loads (legally) that would make people turn there heads the other way.

Tractors in a box trailer or truck is not illegal or unsafe.

Maybe you should come hang out at my place for a week and see how stuff is shipped.
All my Mahindra tractors come in a 53' boxed truck with very minimal straping to the wall of the trailer.
Next time you have a LTL delivery or see one of those trucks in your neighborhood climb up inside...you would be shocked on the way product is not secured yes even hazardous materials.

Now back to the praising of Wallace Tractor!:D

Ok :
So sombody show me some threads /post where somebody is using box trucks to haul their tractors with.

Many members have used ramp trucks & flatbed trucks which are box trucks without a box. In my area I know of no dealer that transports with trailers for anything less than 100 hp.
You are missing the point a little here. Regulations are different for rolling / non-rolling loads because there's a different risk & method of failure.
The pics were to show off a new tractor not a "how to" on transport. There is a visable strap securing the front of the tractor and one can barely see some of the blocking. There is more than " a 2x4" in place. Neither text or pics show that only gravity is securing the load. Merely knowing the majority of TBN members might do something different is not legislation and is not necessarily unsafe. Lighten up - Dude! :D MikeD74T
