On Ice

Just got the Elect back on a few minutes ago.
It went off about 6AM.
Ice storm caused it.

We had about 3/4's of an inch of ice and sleet last night.

Yesterday we had freezing rain and sleet all day.___1 1/2 inch. ice.

Today we are getting snow and the forecast says 30 to 40 mph.winds

been lucky so far, electric just off for a few minutes, other places of the state a mess.

finally got some snow!

4-5" had to plow the driveway this morning before the wife could get the car out to go to work.

We got about 8" total, a mix of snow and sleet. My neighbor let me borrow his snowblower this AM. First time I ever used one...it was a hoot.

My rain gauge this morning had about .2" of water in the bottom that had then frozen from the freezing rain yesterday, then another .15" to .2" of sleet on top of the solid ice. So I think altogether I may have gotten .3" of precipitation, but everything was pretty well covered with white stuff this morning; just not very deep. The temperature this morning was 16, but it turned out to be a clear, sunny day and has gotten up to 36 so the only ice still showing is in places the sun couldn't reach.

But the best thing is that we did not lose our electrical powier.

LB do you have an alternate power source?

with 3 tractors sitting around waiting for farmer lbrown to put them to work, you would think he would have gotten a pto genset for one of his tractors by now. Those 3 tractors sure get lonely sitting there with little work since it's spread among 3 BX's .
