A Kubota B or L model with a RFM. I bought the one in my avatar to do the work.

Sounds like you might need a ZTR? There are tons to choose from. How big of an area are you cutting?

I think you have to define big 1st. I have a 4 acre lawn & my cub cadet lawn tractor does all my finish lawns. My B7800 with a brush cutter does my field & rough cutting. The B series tractors can take a center mount mower & are light on the ground. I would not recommend and L series.

Timber is right on. How big is big? I mow about 3 acres with a rider Cub Cadet 48" cut. But I have 3 tractors that never are used for lawn. For pure lawn work, you will be hard pressed to find anything better than a Zero Turn. By the time you get so big that a tractor is better than a Zero Turn, you are looking at a dern large tractor pulling a gang mower like they use at the golf course.

Now, if you want to expand your weekend fun with other implements and a front end loader, then you can't beat a tractor. Kubota BX, B, L, Grand-L. I think you can get a 40+ hp grand L with a mid-mount mower. If you are talking "BIG" you can look into the M tractors. A turbo charged 105 hp tractor pulling a 30 ft wide gang mower will keep hundreds of acres looking nice. Much like the lawn size question, how "big" is your budget?

Since you have a Kubota logo in your ID, I'm going to assume you're a fan. In that case, I'd look at the BX's. If you're open minded to used, a John Deere late model garden tractor might meet your needs and save you a few bucks. I have a 455 that I'm delighted with. Don't jump on the ZTR bandwagon too quickly. Try one out before you make the decision. I just plain don't like them, even if they are faster. My 455 is almost as fast, doesn't require constant vigilance (and two hands) and can do a wide variety of other jobs in addition to mowing.

Cub Cadet 3000 series with a 60" deck is a awesome machine....I've owned a few. And, with the diff lock you can get serious with a blade or blower. Or, step up to a 72" Cub Tank, with a 28 HP CAT engine.....if you need to do serious mowing.....I have one and it's an absolute beast. Have fun shopping regardless of what you buy!

Good advice .
I'd probably be driveing a JDx455 if the Kubota BX 1500 hadn't beat it out on price features and functionality.

I'm with Timber. Can you give us a bit more info to help.

Size of lawn
Other uses you will need for the unit (snow, whatever)
Slopes or flat
Wet areas
Brush to cut
Obstacles to go around (are there many)

Thanks:confused:
