How does the shaft come off? That is, how does the collar get removed?

Dude.......the shaft for the blower works just the same as the mower shaft only you hook it to the intemediate shaft on the hitch. Same pull collars to remove it as at the transmission.

Jay,look at your pictures. The shaft that is connected to the tractor needs to come off and be slid back onto the shaft that is still connected to the blower. The piece that is still connected to the tractor should have a locking collar on it. Grab the collar and slide it towards you. This should unlock it and you should be able to pull the shaft loose. The collar will stay with the piece you are removing. After you have it off, slide it onto the shaft that is connected to the blower. Now hook up the quick hitch and slide the shaft with the collor back onto where you removed it. It should click into place. Hope that helps.

What your problem is...............when you removed the blower you did not unlock the collar and the shaft seperated. You need to unlock the collar and put the two pieces back together before you install the blower.

Sincerely, Dirt

Jay, when you finish with the blower this year.................just remember to take the collar loose on the tractor end and leave the whole pto shaft with the blower. Good luck and I hope it works out okay.

Now I am really confused. When I first responed to the post I assumed it was a rear mount 3 point hitch blower like I have. Now the talk of intermediate shafts and carrier bearings gets me to think I was wrong and the blower is on the front. However it was mentioned at some point in time the blower was mounted to a quick hitch. Maybe the problem has been solved but I would like to know if the snow blower is on the front or the rear of the tractor.

kubotasam, my first thoughts from the discription was a rear mounted blower, but from the pics it changed my mind to thinking it is a front mounted blower on a front quick hitch.

The pic clearly shows the front mount quick hitch. I just happen to have owned a couple of BX machines and recognize the hitch.:D
