i was wondering if anyone knows the cost of a mmm for a bx24. when i bought my tractor the dealer told me i couldnt get a mmm because it wouldnt fit. i see that several people are using them and i just dont like my rear finish mower.

That's a shame that your dealer told you that. When I met my dealer for the first time and asked what a BX24 cost, he told me a price w/MMM included. He would have had to subtract the MMM cost if I didn't want one.

Suggestion, if you are going back to the same dealership, I would ask if you could get the MMM for the same price that you would have paid when you bought your tractor new. I bet most dealers sell the MMM for a higher price as a separate sell than if rolled up in the original purchase. This would only be fair to you, since you asked if a MMM was available when you did the original purchase. Tod

Thanks for all of the input. The rear mower does come in handy under trees and I have learned to manuever very well. The main problem I have is tall grass and bahia grass. Even with high lift blades it doesnt get it all. My last riding mower got all of it. I dont think at this point it is worth the money to change. Maybe I'll find someone with a mmm and borrow it to see. Thanks again for your help!

When I had my BX24 I purchased a used 54" for 800.00, from my dealer. He had 2 sitting there. It worked great! He even offered to repair for free if anything happened to it over the summer.

"Are there any inherent benefits to rear finish mowers?"
The ability to trim under trees/shrubs. Back over the edge of ditches or ponds. Easier to remove/install. Higher ground clearance even when installed. Probably others.

Rear mowers are also more accessible to service and clean when mounted. The dust storm from the mower is behind the operator instead of underneath. Not saying a rear mounted is better than the MMM. Just why I prefer one.

As I have stated before, I like having the mmm. I can put the tractor on the trailer with the fel,mmm and the tiller or rake all at the same time to go somewhere to work and don't have to mess with loading another implement separate!
