MAHINDRA
Well guys next time I hear the comment "I should have bought a name brand tractor" I will stick this post in their face.
Here's my story...AS most of you guys know I bought a new "delivery truck". well I loaded a DK65 cab tractor up last night and headed west to help another dealer out, we dropped the tractor off about 7:30 last night and we stopped for fuel after jumping back into the truck I went to start it and nothing happened so after checking the basics and getting no where I called road side assistance and about 2 hour later a tow truck showed up I asked where we were going he said "well we can drop you at the truck stop or take you into town to the Ford dealership" and then he said you might want to just go to the truck stop and get to a different Ford dealership tomorrow. He then said the Ford dealership is small and the mechanic just left and went to work for the township.
Guys keep in mind I am now close to 200 mile from home.
So we got a hotel room and called my brother to have him load my 1999 f250 on my rollback and come out and get me.
Ohh by the way Ford would only tow me 35 miles or to the nearest dealership.
Well my "new" truck is at the dealership for the 2nd time and it only has 2,400 miles on it.
So to sum it up...I don't care what make or color or even how much you pay for something THEY ALL BREAK DOWN!

Very true. But,...them toyotas are pretty well made. I have spent as much money repairing my 7 year old f150 as I have my 12 year old tacoma, both bought new and taken care of. fords got 72,000 toyotas got 192,000[why I didn't buy another toyota is one of those stupid things I have been known to do].

Course you need a big one,so don't think? toyota makes one that big? Tundra is their full size but its like a f150 or is it?

I feel your pain. My 08 chevy 2500 broke down. Waited for 2.5-3hrs for the company tow in 14 degree weather. Truck had less than 7K on it. Oil pump went. Took them almost a week to fix it.

For future reference, call customer service about your truck, as well as the roadside assistance. It sometimes helps when corporate calls the dealership about your truck repair. In my case I don't think they were even going to look at it for another day - until corporate called them.

I had problems getting a rental car that day. They are supposed to give you a loaner from the dealership, but all their loaners were out. Between corporate and the service manager at the dealership, they managed to get me into a loaner later that night.

You are completely correct, everything mechanical breaks down sooner or later. It doesn't matter who made it.

Iffen the truck was Chinese, like my former Jinma tractor, you could have fixed it on the spot with bailing twine, some clay and a fresh ox......:D:D

I got my eyes watered when I paid nearly 50K for a maxed out Duramax 3500 dually and tool it out for the first time and climbing a grade it started over heating.

Worse yet they never ever did fix or even admit there was a problem to the 05's.

Then two more vehicles later and two more dealer buy backs. Come on people it's 2009 lets learn how to build something that doesn't break.

Total score (1) GM bad, (1) Ford bad (1) Chrysler Bad.

Sorry. But you wrote out the right conclusion for us.

I had this theory once, may still have, that most any car/vehicle that runs well will be as reliable as any other one that runs well, whether it's new, old, beat up, etc.

Rick

sorry to hear of your trouble, especially when you were helping somebody else out.... probably a bad computer chip that controls the whole engine.... i had that happen twice to a ford t-bird i owned in the past... one time it just died as i was doing 60mph in the center lane of a busy highway.

maybe the folks at kioti will start make delivery trucks......
good luck, let us know how it turns out

Somebody's been drinking the silly juice.....

Rick, sorry for your troubles, my dad had a new 1978 chevy van, nothing but troubles for the first couple of months, in the end was bulletproof, many many happy family miles on that truck when he finaly sold it. Would haul and tow anything anywhere, worked it hard it's entire life and never failed. Hope your experience is the same, that is, slow start but super strong finish.

Good luck,
Joel
