honestly, I dont think what the best tools for one peson is the best tools for the next. I think the only way to know is to put some hours on your machine to the point where you get a little frustrated with not having the right tools next to you. As for me since I have a BX and using it on only 2 acres and dont travel with the BX often, I find I only need three things at this time. I have a wrench to adjust the 3 pt tension,needle nose pliers to pull small hair pins to remove the MMM , and rag for checking oil level. they all fit inside my little PVC toolbox mounted on fel arms. I have a fire extenguisher mounted on rops for a bit a safety.
