Glad you are feeling better and it seems that it was worth it for you to ahve the surgery. I have a question about all those sinus infections, do you still have your tonsils in?

I know and one of the coldest too but i tried to stay indoors but the chaos around our yard would'nt allow it very often ....Did find stuffing nostrils with cotton balls helped on realy cold days ....Stopped the pain any way...??????????

I figured you did. Both our kids always got a lot of colds that more often than not lead into sinus infections. My son in particular got a lot fo colds and his tonsils would get huge. When we would take him to the doctor he would be amazed at how large his tonsils were, from infection. Nowdays insurance does not cover taking out tonsils. However our doctor kind of "lead" us by saying "So your boy is having trouble sleeping because of his enlarged= tonsils?" and "He frequently has enlarged tonsils that make sleeping difficult and he is tired, is that right?" I quickly figured out that he was asking these questions to satisfy the insurance companies so I jsut agreed with him and he wrote it down. Our son had his tonsils out and it was like night and day, and I mean like night and day. He was in middle school when he got his tonsils out and immediatly he quit getting so many colds and bronchitis and sinus infections. I felt liek the tonsils were jsut like a big spong catching every germ he breathed into his mouth and growing it into many viruses and colds etc. The minute he got them out he no longer was routinely sick.

I know you just had surgery, however if you have not had your tonsils out you might consider it. Like night and day it was for our son. My daughter never did have her tonsils out and to this day in her early 30's she still gets sinus infections, our son never does. I never even knew what a sinus infection was becasue in our day most kids got thier tonsils taken out, it was only once I had children of my own that I learned about sinus infections. I think that is why there ae much more sinus infections nowdays the kids do not get thier tonsils taken out any more. All I can say is one kid had them out and was barely sick from that day forward he other kid didn't and continues to this day to ocassionally get sinus infections.

..Hmmm.....My 8 year old is a big strong boy for his age but suffers with the old mans nose and snuffles a bit at the best of times,All his life winter has meant bouts of croup and any cold or flu results in chest or throat infections as he's got older ....Could this type of thing be iherited...?
