Manual on cd?? Any good??

I got mine today and like the poster before me says, its worth the $15.00 I paid for it. It doesn't go into much detail, but better than nothing I guess. The guy was great to deal with, it took quite awhile to get here so he sent me a link so I could download it.

Overall I say its worth the $15.00, but I would like to get the manual.

Bewary of printing manuals, I printed a manual for my fiat allis excavator, it was 2198 Pages, it took 3hrs of printing on a laser printer, 1 toner cartage, and 5 bundles of paper, not to mention after it was all printed it, the stack of paper was 4ft tall. Either stick to using the cd manual on a computer or buy the paper copy, bought paper copies look nicer then printed copies.

So, I've got to know...

Did you know it was going to be 2K+ pages before you started printing it?

Depending on the printer, a toner cartridge and a box of paper might just pay for a new OEM factory manual.

Well I would of just bought the manual, but it was for a 11 year old machine, and the fiat allis division is now gone, it has become part of the New Holland construction side. also only a handfull of these machines made it to North America. I bought a digital copy off a website, and you can tell it was all scanned onto the computer, I don't know who would have the patience to scan that many pages from 7 books (it was the complete shop service manuals btw).

Makes Sense. If that's the only way you can get it, then that's the only way you can get it.

You can of course just print the pages you are interested in. It also helps to have a printer that does 2 sided printing. If I was to print a whole manual I would probably get a quote from a local Kinkos (or similar). I did that once for an obsolete tester manual and it wasn't that expensive plus they did a nice bind job for me.

I can understand why anyone would be skeptical at buying a CD online. Not being from the Local dealer you just have to trust that it's for real.
I know, I have numerous JD tech manuals on CD and have tried to sell copies to supplement my income and people usually back out at the last min. and it's understandable. I have mostly just sold to local people that know me.
