i heard fiat bought out new holland, is this true?

Old news - The New Holland company was formed in 1991 from the merger of Ford New Holland and Fiat Geotech. Ford subsequently sold out all interest to Fiat, and New Holland purchased Case to make NHC in 1999.

Ford sold the tractor division to Fiat in 1993. Fiat licensed the Ford name for a period of time, but the Ford part had to be made smaller and smaller until the license period was up, about five years IIRC. After that, the products were simply known as New Holland. The construction line was merged with Fiat-Allis, which Fiat also owned, and renamed New Holland Construction.

Fiat and ford both made cars, tractors, construction machinery, trucks, as well as Volvo.
Funny how Ford sold its tractor and construction to Fiat, then buying the automobile division of Volvo, Volvo buying themself into Deutz Diesel to supply engines for Volvo trucks and construction equipment, buying Renault (and Mack) trucks... and the list goes on.

There has been a lot of switching between divisions and companies...

geez i need to get out more.

It's hard to keep up with!

My son shares my passion for Duetz Fahr and did a school project about it, I still can't remember all the taker-overs, mergers and divestments (if thats the word).

Actually its called CNH (Case-New Holland), not NHC (New Holland-Case). It just would not sound right if it was NHC :p

Kobelco is also now part of NHC. Most of what you see as New Holland constuction is what was Kobelco, not Fiat-Allis.

As an observer from afar, I'm confused. Let's see if I am understanding what has been established::eek:

CNH = Case-New Holland
NHC = New Holland Construction

Is that right? ...for this week at least?

Yes you are correct.

BTW I believe you can still get Fiatallis construction equipment in brazil, I have seen some 2005 FiatAllis's in brazil for sale recently. So I don't know exactly what the deal is with FA.

I belive this is a 2002-04 Dozer
