New to me diesel

Something with the injector system, filled the crankcase with diesel and the engines burned rod bearings and one blew a head gasket run all the water out. Warranty covered all the repairs.

Been there done that with a Dmax myself although I did not let it go till it blew the engine. The late model Dmax is a great engine, say late 2005 through 2007 classic like Builder has.

Like Builder and others said the DPF system came on in 07. GM made what they called the classic for the first 1/2 of the year with no DPF.

Take what the others said and listen to all then sift through it to make up your mind. I am on the Ford side of the fence. I feel they may not have the best engine but they make the best overall truck. I have 2 6.0's with zero issues on both and I run and work the heck out of them.

I feel the 5.9 Cummins or the 7.3 Powerstroke was the best of all time.

My personal opinion is if you want a tough truck get a Ford. If you are ripping tree stumps out all day get a Dodge, and if you are using it as a daily driver and occasional mid weight tow rig get a GM.

Does the 2007 6.7 Cummings have the filter system on it. I've found a 3500 mega cab priced in my range. As I've said earlier the F350 with V-10 has served well but it is time for an upgrade. The horror stories I'm refering to is I have 3 buddies with Duramax and there was 4 engine failures between them (they are the early models).

What makes you happy with the V-10 Ford? If its the truck itself get another with a diesel. I love my 2006 F-350 4X4 PSD.

All 6.7 Cummins have DPF.

If you're going to buy one (A Dodge with a Cummins), might as well get the name right. It's Cummins, not Cummings.

As far as the big 3 anything 06 or older would be my choice, which may be why I have not updated trucks lately.
