Scotty,
That repair job looks pretty good and should buy you a little time, but I don't think 20 years!

From my experience with duct tape seat repairs, the edges start curling up and gets pretty messy, sticking to you, especially on a hot day when your wearing shorts

Maybe a slip cover now? :)

I also have an old WH and would do what ever necessary to keep it operational.

Is that some un-split wood I see in the background? And you're complaining about being bored with nothin' to do? Remember, it heats you 3 or 4 times...

Is it spring already? Ican hear a baby robin singing a song, cheap, cheap, cheap, cheap:D

Mornin Alan,
Yep your hearin right ! :D

Scotty,

I can honestly say that is the finest sponge taping of a lawn tractor seat I have ever seen.;):D.

David

Mornin David,
Thanks, OK maybe not 20 but at least a few ! ;)

Scotty,
Tractor Supply has utility seats in black or yellow for $49. Not quite as cheap as your repair but a little better looking and far less than your replacement quote.
P.S. Don't let the wife see that extra sponge. She'll have you wash dishes with it instead of using the dishwasher to save on electric and water.

Mornin George,
Those seats look like plan B ! :) I could almost swallow that price tag ! ;)

Mornin John,

I like these. They wear a long time. I had one cover that was black, but they don't seem to be available anymore. The only problem with tape is it will start to peel off and be sticky for the next 30 to 50 years. You'll have to use thinner to get all the tape glue off every pair of pants you wear while mowing.

Yep! But be careful and ask her nicely for it. Whatever you do, don't steal it. You don't want a woman who needs a shower bonnet that big to be mad and lookin' for you.:D

Good Afternoon Guys,
Im gonna have some fun... :)

Can you tell Im bored a bit... ;) Thinking of things that need to be done for spring. My beloved 1982 Wheel Horse C-125 has a seat that is totally shot. I call the dealer this mornin and tell him what Im looking for... hold on just a bit sir... ohh here it is..... its a bit expensive, but we do have one, it will be $176 plus tax :eek::eek: ! Thanks for your time bud but I really dont think soo... !

Whats a guy like me gonna do, cheapscate that I am,OK go to Ocean State job lot buy 4 sponges $10, one roll of black tape $3 and go to work ! :)

Good for another 20 or so, wouldnt yea say ? I guess I can reward myself with a beer for that job ! :D
Good Mornin Scott,

Good job with the seat,__ I think $176 plus is real high for a seat that type, i was at TSC Wednesday and seen a seat that had arm rests on for only $99 plus.

My seat has a problem too, but the backing is coming off mine, i went to TSC to look at something else, and looked at the seats but didn't buy one.

My wife was looking at the metal seats they had.:( :rolleyes:___:p

If you had the metal seat, you could call this__in my next 100 years.

*Nice stack of firewood, I'm just about out and were under a winter storm watch, it may be heading your way in a few days.
Good Evenin Jim,

I don't think i would take a shower bonnet from a women that full.__NO WAY.

I would rather sit on my fist and rare back on my thumb.

So i may take a roll of yellow tape and wrap it around the back.

What do you think??

surpluscenter.com has some pretty good prices on seats you might look at, but the more I think about yours, if you need to do any other repairs it'll hardly be noticeable.
