With the emphasis on the "no" in snow! I went out a limb yesterday and removed my tire chains from my 'Bota B7500 for the season. Hopefully I haven't invited Mother Nature to strike hard like she just did in NH, VT, and ME. Anyone else in the northern latitudes feeling this brave (or lucky)?

"I wouldn't call RI northern"

Well...RI is part of New England (granted, in the southern part), and it isn't part of the mid-Atlantic states region, it is not out of the question for us to receive 12"-20" of snow in one storm, up to 2 weeks of near zero degree temps every winter, and our frostline for safely putting in posts/footings is at least 36". I understand you are further north, but I for one, will still group RI in with the northern states. I understand our weather is not as brutal as some regions, but that has as much to do with our proximity to the ocean as it does to our latitude.

Winter in RI
Hmmm where I am, we consider southern Vermont to be the banana belt :)

Looks like you guys were right, I brought the white stuff back by removing chains! They are calling for a small storm tonight/tomorrow, followed by possibly a real dumper on Sunday night/all day Monday. ERRRRRR!

You even jinxed as far west as Kansas City. Got 5 inches or so last night and this morning. Had to break out the 2520 and rear blade. Man, I was about ready to put the mower back on until this happened....

Steve,

I would put chains on the Z06 and still go out. It does not have much ground clearance but you can plow a lot of snow with the front fascia.

At least we all know who to blame! --tempting mother nature like that, shame.

Worst snow I ever saw was in March a few yrs back when I was snow contracting.
Seem to recall 30 or so inches and my plow blade was barely 24" high plus the city had left snow banks in every entrance that were higher than the hood of my truck.
I chained all 4 wheels put her in low 4x4 and played bulldozer. It did help that the truck was 3/4 ton and a deizel plus the rear pickup bed was full of sand.
I did however shred some of the chains.
