lbrown- #3 When I said attempted - Perhaps i should have explained a bit more clearly. I took the BH and fel off. I drove it on the single axel trailer and then immediately took it off since I didnt like the way it looked on the trailer. The single axel trailer was supposely is rated for the BX weight by itself but at the time it was the only thing i had. instead of doing something dumb like you say , I didn't use the small trailer. I ended up getting a 7k rated trailer and it was perfect. I have been around towing trailers for awhile to know better- but sometimes in this economy- you do what you gotta do if you can do it safely , you know?

I only used my experience just to show the op what's the preferred method of transporting something sized like the BX.

There are some TBN'ers have moved a BX sixed tractor on a single axel and did it safely anyway. I would said there are several variable of the type of the trailer OP has. Having two difference brands of 3.5k trailers side by side is no contest. One might be cheaply built, and the other well built. You could say , mine was cheaply built.

Perhaps OP has a nicer trailer and will only be transporting his on back roads, level areas.
Lbrown - you do realize that states have various weight laws on trailers. For example in OP state texas he can tow up to 4,500 without brakes on the trailer. In new york its 3000lb. Why the 1.5 k difference? perhaps its the type of the terrain and the way a texan drives? I dunno

. I only driven to texas once with a uhaul truck and car trailer for a freind on new years eve that brought snow (my freinds jokingly blamed me for bringing snow to texas with me). Anyway - back to point, I am not familar with a 10' Kearney trailer.
#4- nope - nothing like your small import truck!

It's a chevy rated to tow 5k. It's a good match for me and equipment I am towing

However I may upgrade to a better truck , just like most TBN'ers do.
