where do I find the serial no. on my MF135

I'm trying to find the year of my MF135 and can't locate the serial number. Can anyone help me, thanks.

I don't know where it is but there should be a tag somewhere on the dash area. Farmwithjunk is the man to ask for the exact location. I've included a link that may help you as well.

I have a metal plate from the front of the tractor underneath the steering wheel.
It has a 5 digit number on it, but it seems a bit short compared to other serial numbers I've seen on line.
Part of the writing on the plate has worn off from the drivers knee rubbing off of it.
It mentions 'British patents' - would the serial number be on this plate?

YEP!!

The 135's produced from 67-70 had a 5 digit serial number after a 9A prefix. The 9A prefix may have only been ink printed on the tag then the 5 digit serial stamped in. The 9A may have rubbed off. See this link for 5 digit serials that came after 9A. Perhaps this is the case with yours. Starting in 71 the serial numbers had 6 digits after the 9A. This info is per the below site.

If it don't have the 9A prefix it could well be a UK model, the same that i have, post the number and we can probably tell ya.

It is a British model. The number stamped on the plate is 10391

My 1964 MF-135 diesel had the tag riveted to right side of the bracket that supports the battery tray. I had to remove the air filter housing to find it. The dashboard tag was missing on my 135 as I suppose is the case for many of these 45 year old babies.
