I use any brand of grease that has moly in it. Right now I buy an Advance Auto branded grease with moly. It's about $3 per tube. Works fine. The issue for me is not so much what kind, type or brand, but that I (you) keep all zerks well greased all the time. You can never grease too much

Looks like so far my intended choice of grease (Mystic JT-6 with 3% Moly) is going to be a good choice

However, the other general rule learned here seemed to be moly, moly, moly! I have several tubes based on DieselPower's input - use it for my other equipment. So I have two guns

Now, I have considered going to the moly that my dealer (and Messicks) also list for the BX - I figure that could get me down to one gun - once I purge....

Thats pretty bad, not only did your dealer use the WRONG grease he sold you a case of it

The Kubota manuals specify a MOLY grease for the BX24 backhoe and front end loader greasing.....the only fitting they don't spec MOLY grease is the pedal grease fitting, and it wouldn't hurt there

For my Kubota LA364 loader it says:

LUBRICATION
1. Lubricate all grease fittings every 10 hours of operation. Also, lubricate joints of control lever linkage every 10 hours. High quality grease designating "extreme pressure" and containing Molybdenum disulfide is recommended. This grease may specify "Moly EP" on its label.

All other grease requirements on the Tractor, MMM and Tiller call for plain ole Multipurpose grease.

Why not? With the first shot of grease you're married for life? For most fittings, grease is purged every day. Most of us grease until we see the same color coming out as going in, but what if some grease is commingled?

Was kind of a tongue-in-cheek quip about the referenced thread. I recall a technical point being made about certain chemical interactions when mixing certain types of grease
