Thread sealant for NPT hydraulic connections

I'm finally adding remotes to my B7100HST!

I ordered all the various hoses, fittings, a dual 4-way control valve, and a hydraulic top link from Surplus Center yesterday.

My question is, what should I use for thread sealant on the NTP connections?
Teflon tape? Pipe dope?

Jay- I would recommend any of the following Loctite products; 542, 545, or 569. I worked in a hydraulic repair shop for many years and Loctite always performed the best. It was easy to apply and you did not have to mess with applying teflon tape and ingesting strands of it into your hydraulic system.

Teflon tape can be bad news for hydraulic systems! (but others here will argue that point for sure)

The products that BK suggested are great, but any good PTFE paste will do, and no...Home Cheapot does not sell it in the plumbing isle.

I prefer loctite pst but have used it all pipe type sealants including Teflon tape (a big no no to some) it just have to be used correctly.

Amen to using tape correctly. It simply is not an issue when used correctly. It goes OUTSIDE the male fitting, not inside it. I respond to these threads because it annoys me to no end some of the garbage that gets posted about teflon tape. You simply have to be smarter than what you are working on.
