G1900 - knocked off 4 of 6 HST fan blades...aaarrgghh

2 weeks ago I was running some fertilizer on the pasture with the G1900 in between removing the plow blade and mounting the 60 inch mowing deck. Some stupid little stick found the fan, and 4 blades were gone.

The good news (I guess) is that the 2 blades left are on opposite sides, so the fan is balanced (looks like a propeller now).

I loath to replace it, as last summer I spent more time than I would have liked under the G1900 replacing the drive shaft et al (to include the fan).

Questions: Could the 2 blades provide enough cooling? How would I know if I was cooking the HST fluid? What empterature is too hot? What damage could I do if the HST fluid gets too hot?

My thoughts exactely. The G1900 has been a great machine for the $3000 I paid for it, and the replacement shaft was a relatively inexpensive item ($220)...and I bought it off Ebay.

My craigslist found B7800 has also served me well.

Newbury, contribute something or leave the post alone.

When I replaced the fan on my Massey I loosened the floor pan, raised the rear of it a couple of inches, and it made wrassling with the fan much easier.
I busted four out of six blades off. The two remaining blades were side by side. I didn't get any vibration, but didn't want to risk an overheat, so I ordered it pronto.
