I just bought 2005 X585 with 130 hours and wondering what your thoughts are on the tractor?

I can't address the X585 but I can tell you about the X595. Yours is a fuel injected gasoline and mine is a diesel but otherwise the tractors are the same. When the tractor was delivered in 2002 it had an issue with the mower heighth adjusting control wouldn't hold the mower in the setting selected. It would slowly ratchet down until the mower was resting on the gauge wheels. That was taken care of immediately and I have not had an issue since and I have just under 700 hours. I had a 445 prior to the 595 which was a fuel injected gasoline similiar to what you have and had no issues in the 400 hours prior to trading.

So I think you have yourself a nice unit that should give you hundreds of trouble free hours.

I've had my X585 for 3 years and have approx. 120 hrs on it....mainly grass cutting and spraying. The mower never bogs and give a great finish with the mulching kit on.

6 months ago I purchased a quick hitch and snow blower (47") which has worked very well. I also have the 54" blade. It doesnt do as well as my quad with a blade...due to traction challanges of the turf tires.

I've never used the rear pto nor 3 pt hitch.

All in all it's an excellent and reliable. A bit much for cutting a couple of acres of grass, but it's fast and smooth!

Yea but $1,300 for the new setup is kinda expensive? I don't necessarily need new blade.

When I looked at Machine Finder a few minutes ago, there was a 54" front blade at a dealer in Illinois for $500. Also your Deere guy might know of a used one that has not been posted to MF, which is why I suggested your dealer. Don't think I said anything about new.
