I've used windsheild washer fluid in both my 2160 and 2518 with no problems. The 2160 was bought in 95 and the other one in 03. The dealer who I bought the first one told me to fill them with this. Easily done just pop bead down on the valve side fill fluid till tire is 95% full then add air to seat the bead again. Just be carefull when bead seats (look away) as it will spray when tire seats.

Morkai, just be sure to stay away from calcium. That stuff is just nasty. It pollutes any ground it comes in contact with if you were to spring a leak. Plus it burns if you get it on you. And last but not seast. It will eventually eat your rim. Use either windshield washer fluid or RV antifreeze if you can't get Rim Guard. You'll be much better off in the long run.

I'm thinking washer fluid is the way to go. I read somewhere before (probably on here) about pouring it in through the bead, so that's probably the way I'll go. My brother has a water hose adapter that he uses to fill his tractor tires, but would have to go straight water. I think I'd rather not invite rust and corrosion.

According to what I understand the recommended fill is 75% on large AG tires, I would think it would be the same for ours. I think up to the valve stem is 75% so I imagine I could just stand it up and top it off to the bead with a funnel. According to a chart I found online 23x8.5x12 turf tires are 6gal/50# at 75%. That's more than I expected.

Morkai - One other thing about the RV antifreeze - if you should have a slow leak, a pet or kid wont possibly die from piddle sipping or such as it is potable. .

I have power traks. They really work well. I have some places where it it wet in my yard and the traction really is great.

They came in today! Really aggressive looking tread, nice tires. I picked up about 13gal of washer fluid and the valve stem adapter. Hopefully, I'll get them put on tomorrow or Sat. I'll try to get some pics as soon as I can.

FYI, the chart I looked up said 23x8.5x12 tires hold 6gal each at 75%. I weighed them and they are about 8.5# each, so just over 50# per tire.

Right-O. You definitely want a propylene glycol + water mix in there as opposed to an ethylene glycol mix. Propylene glycol has very little toxicity to it. Most will have rust inhibitors and all the good stuff you'd need to protect your rubber & steel.

I finally got the tires mounted. Some advice, don't try it yourself unless you have some tire changing equip. I had to take it to a tire shop, even they had trouble seating the beads.

I was going to fill the tires tonight, but the stupid water fill adapter I bought from TSC leaks like crazy. I'm going to take it back tomorrow.

Good news, got a new adapter (apparently I picked out the only screwed up one at the store....as usual) and it worked great. They took about 5.5gal each before running out of the valve stem. Should add about 46-47# per tire. I'll post pics when I get a chance to clean her up...lol

Avoid the calcium clorride like the plague!! Dont use straight water either. They will rust the rim, espicaly the first one. Make sure you tube the tires before you have them loaded, lawn and garden tires only have around 10-15 psi in them if they are properly inflated, pop a bead and you just wasted all that fluid. I normaly use RV antifreeze that I find on season clearance for weight in our cubs. Mike
