Did I get ripped off ???

It's 7 miles East of Fredericktown on Hwy 72, 1/2 mile from the Castor. One of the guys here tracked me down via a google earth pix...I think that thread still lives. It's very pretty but not worth a flip for crops. I use it to hunt, ride 4wheelers and it's my excuse to own a tractor.

Here's my view on this...First, never look up the answers after the test, It'll just make you mad.

Main issue is if you're happy with the machine (Which I'm more than certain that you will be). Unless you got you're clock cleaned by someone, the differences in price in my area are only a couple of hundred bucks...In the bigger scheme of things...don't worry about it and enjoy!!!!:D:D

First rule, almost akin to the first of the Ten Commandments. AFTER you have purchased, QUIT shopping. It really doesn't matter what you paid....you paid it and you also shopped. If you find a better price, you will only have buyers remorse, which could turn to anger, and then you will hear every little rattle in the tractor, or you will find something that is not to your liking. If you got to that point you will be calling your dealer complaining about everything, and will end up disliking him....then you will be like many on here....you will be trashing your dealer.

ENJOY YOUR PURCHASE.....have fun with it and make sure you do lots of work with it, because wives can have VERY sharp teeth at times....you know those catty little remarks like, "oh you have not been on YOUR tractor and completed that job?"

But please stop shopping you bought all ready.

OK, after a life long desire of owning a tractor and reading these messege boards, I finally made the jump and purchased a kubota BX 1860. Wanted a bigger, cab tractor but when reality set in, this is what my wife agreed to. I purchased the BX1860 with bar tires and the deluxe canopy, the LA203 loader and a woods 54" back deck mower all for $12,500. I shopped the same package deal to all 16 kubota dealerships here in Missouri and these guys gave me the best deal (one dealership in Springfield wanted $17,000 !) I couldn't believe the differnce in prices. My questions is did I get ripped off or could I have done better had I shopped in a couple of neighborting states ? Don't own a farm just wanted something to maintain one acre of wild grass and do some winter snow removal. I've decided to name my baby of all kubota's "Missouri Thunder". Any suggestions are greatly appriciated.

Missouri Thunder

Nice little tractor.
Price sounds about right. The blue book says that a 2008 BX1850 cost about $8200 new. The 1850 and 1860 are essentially the same tractor. Add $3K for the loader and maybe $1K for the mower and you're close to your price.
Have fun.
I owned a 2005 Kubota B7510HST with the LA302 loader (4-ft wide bucket). Great tractor. Unfortunately I outgrew it and now my go-to tractor is a 2008 Mahindra 5525 (54 hp engine, 47 hp pto) that I use for haying on my 10 acres.

BTW: I'm a transplated MO boy (St. Louis County).

Mike Costello & flusher,
I say hooah ! I too am a Missouri transplant via the Army. We've been stationed at FT Leonard Wood three and a half years and absolutely love it here. Originally from Colorado, there are a lot of similarities with the four seasons and terrain. We just purchased a home on 1.25 acres and my missourithunder kubota is exactly what is needed. Besides the loader and the back deck mower I already purchased, I'm looking for some type of salt spreader to hook up to the PTO and a "spring loaded" type front blade during the winter months.

We've been to St Louis county many a times for our kids' sporting events and that's pretty country down there. I will definitely post some photos as soon as I pick her up. You all ain't going to believe your eyes when you see what I do with her. Thanks for the welcome.

6thgpSF,
You are a relic sir and I thank you for your service. I must admit FT Leonard Wood has changed since you were here last but you'd be amazed at how it looks today!

My three sons and I were just at the shoppette about two hours ago and never would have guessed we would run into the former CG of FLW, three star retired Randell Castro himself !

He commanded FLW from 2004-2006 (I think) and was here visiting his son. Mr Castro has been one of the greatest guys I've ever worked for. He pushed for so many changes to get this base as one of the front runners in relocating draw down units from abroard.

He gave a pep talk to our youth wrestling club when I first got here and I have been extremeyl impressed with him every since. It was his wisdom and vision that brought Army units that were going away from overseas locations to FT Wood which helped our local economy. This dude still owns a tractor and a harley to this day.

I have to assume that you came into the Army as an engineer. What do you remember about Waynesville/St Robert ? The locals tell me that during the 60's and 70's, Waynesville was the place where the Soldiers went for R&R and took their furloughs. They said lots of bars, nightclubs and prostitution ruled the town as that is what was demanded during those times. Any thruth to that ?

Anyhow, keep watching these message boards cause my missourithunder is going to make her debut very, very soon (lots of photos trust me). Take care.
