Last evening as we were sitting down to Easter dinner, I looked out the window and said to my wife "look, it's snowing!" in jest of course. There was a breeze from the north and and it looked like a moderate snow blowing by. The wife thought it pollen from some desert plants. I didn't remember seeing any plants blooming yet.

Later she went outside and when she came back in, she said it was moths! There were certainly millions of them for it continued until dark.

I've lived in the desert many years and every so often the desert pulls out a new surprise that you haven't seen before.

Hope they don't turn into millions of worms.

The desert gets lots of snow, I have had to dig myself out of snow in Death Valley a few times, Joshua tree park had so much one year, they closed it.

Snow in the desert is great!

I remember one night back in the late 80's when I was driving home from work across the Mississippi River bridge at Hannibal MO. The Mayflies were so thick around the bridge they had to scoop them off with a snow plow and spread sand. LEO's would stop you and warn of the hazard. They wouldn't wander far from the river and were drawn to the bridge lights. This phenomena lasted about three nights but was truly the worst the first night.
Very bizarre.

And that reminds me of one night we river camped on the Jack's Fork near bee bluff. We had little kids and left a lantern burning up the gravel bar a ways. It reflected off the bluff and made it very pretty, about 2 AM the mayflys started going down river, I watched until I feel asleep, it was never ending! There had to be millions of them.
