Just bought a new Mahindra 4500 2wd with fel, going to pull a 6ft bushhog on rough land. Can I switch rear tires to widen it? I used to do that to an old 8n ford. Can I do that to the Mahindra?

You can swap the rear tires and wheels from side to wide to widen the track.

There are also other options for changing the track width by moving the inside of the wheel in and out on the spacers that hold the inside to the outside.

I have a 6000 and my owner's manual has a complete description of what dimensions you can obtain by making various adjustments.

If you smimply change sides with the rear tires, which have directional tread, the tread would be turned in the wrong direction. You need to change the mount location of the inner wheel or hub.

Yes. You change the wheels from one side to the other, but mount them backwards from what they were (Outside of wheel is now the inside and vice versa). Now the tread goes the right way and the width is narrower or wider than it was respectively.:)
