I currently pull a 130lb capacity "tow-behind" spreader with Kubota bx24 but would like to know if a PTO spreader would make my life easier. Are there pto spreaders made specifically for subcompacts? Can you control the width of the spread well? Are there other issues I should be thinking about? I'm currently fertilizing, overseeding 1.5 acers of grass 3-4 times per year. I also use my pull-behind spreader for sanding the 400' driveway which is about 10 feet wide gravel.

This one should work well on a BX24:
FERTILIZER SPREADER P180 - Agri Supply
Note the significant delivery charge though. So shop the local farm stores to see if you can get one closer to the actual $367 that AgriSupply lists it for - before the crippling freight charge.

Consider a plastic hopper if there's any chance of using corrosive materials (salt, lime, etc.) or you'll need to clean a painted metal hopper out & spray it down.

I went the plastic hopper route to lower my maintenance chores down. Too many kids, too little time...

If you have a TSC near you, they sell one made for the SCUT's Tractor Supply Company - CountyLine Mini Spreader Seeder. It's the XB model and is rated for 400lbs. You can control the amount of material that comes out from your seat with a lever and you can control the spread by lowering or raising the rpm's.

I'm thinking of the M96 myself. Although it looks a bit bigger on Herd's site than on the link that Builder posted. That price on the used one is pretty good.
