My uncle told me a few days ago that back in the 90s Allied or some company made a Self Leveling Kit for your loader. The way it worked is as you Pull/Push the joystick, the mechanism would open the Bucket Dump and Curl value just enough to keep the load level. Is anyone familiar or heard of this?

Yes, there are a number of these out there. Several manufacturers put them on their front end loaders. Depending on the FEL geometry, they can be pretty simple mechanics or more complex electronics. With the PT "level indicator", it wouldn't be hard to rig something up.

That said, I can't say that I have really felt the need. For my own uses, other items rank higher-I'm still considering adding laser leveling to the PT.

All the best,

Peter

Oh, I don't know how about these;

  • Laying out terraces,
  • keeping the arena flat,
  • correcting slopes in driveways,
  • keeping berms in shape to gently divert rainfall,
  • water tank pads,
  • constant slope drain lines,
  • putting in fire break roads...
All the best,

Peter

A laser level for??????? Inquiring minds want to know....

Bear in mind that different gizmos have different ideas of what constitutes level. e.g. parallel to the tractor, parallel to the ground, perpendicular to gravity... The first two are cheap and I have seen them on a number of tractors.

On flat ground, in the barnyard or building site, they all approximate to the same thing, but not on slopes or crowns...

All the best,

Peter

I believe it came in a kit that you put on the loader. Any loader that would work.

Hi, I see your point on the angle of tractor in relation to level,, thats why I'm working on a level indicator, which will show bucket true level on all grades.. picures to follow..
