Hi all,

I've taken the time to build a semi-heated space for my tractor; I have a power trowel finished slab on grade. I'm hoping (probably in vain) for a clean space which is easy to clean up dirt, debris, etc.

Does anyone have a suggestion as to what to use? I'm looking toward an epoxy coating, but maybe someone has an idea of something else.

Thanks!

Jon

I would just use a good sealer

ditto

becareful how smooth you make it when trowelling, because when you add sealer or epoxy it maybe TOO smooth, and you might fall on your a-- when its wet. don't askhow I know.

(In jest) - we're not allowed to hunt the seals anymore, so it should be easy to find a good sealer. :)

A good concrete sealer in one option, for sure. It does make for a dark colour floor, but has less steps than the epoxy.

Joe, thanks for the tip. I will test with non-critical area first (the job will be done in sections).

when we pored our basement we flooded it with an acrylic based sealer - did not change the color of the concrete, but water beads up plenty well.

When talking to concrete finishers I have always asked for a broom finish, rough enough so I don't slip when it is wet, smooth enough so I don't tear my clothes when I crawl under a car. All the finishers I have hired have been able to do this.

I just leave it "as is". Dust sweeps up well, oil spills go away with absorbent, followed by clean absorbent and some paint thinner.

I think the concrete has already been poured:rolleyes:

"build a semi-heated space for my tractor"

What does "semi-heated" mean?

Maybe a wood stove. Heated only semi-the-time when you're there to throw a few logs in. :)
