who sells narrow dump bodies for non-duallys?

I don't think anyone makes a production dumpbody for a SRW truck. However almost every flatbed body manufacturer makes a 7' flat bed which can be made to dump.

I would start with EBY, they make very, very nice stuff, and if you add their sides on a flatbed body it's just about a mason dump, without the canopy over the cab.

You can get a dump insert

A full blown dump body is kinda impractical for SRW because of limited GVWR & rear GAWR

I thought the axles and frames were the same on a DRW and SRW, just different hubs.
Have an insert dumper on the current farm truck.
Inserts just get you a smashed up outer bed and needless extra weight.

It gets driven between trees getting firewood, so a DRW would limit were it could go.

I've also seen dumpers on FG140s, they are about as wide a SRW truck

I've seen more than a few lightweight 8'-9' dumpbodys on single axle 3/4 & 1 ton chassis. Manufacturer escapes me. Maybe "Truck Craft"? Usually aluminum. Eby is another good choice.

Hey zukota, I live near where PA/DE & MD (& NJ) meet, too.

Kool. I'm about 5 miles north on 896 from the point where pa/de/md come together. Just off 841.

For a farm truck, anything new is going to be a budget buster. Possibly sectioning 12" out of an old mason dump would be the ticket. Or what about just dumping the 3/4 ton body? They sell dump kits out of northern tool, wouldn't be hard to fab it up yourself for a lot less.

This would be a multi use truck. It'll be my Dad's. He makes good money, and doesn't see the point of investing it when all his previous retirement investmenst went to crap. He also wants to do something good for the economy. Thats why he isn't interested in a FG140 (that and he doesn't want to drive 100 miles to the nearest dealership). The stock bed isn't strong enough. I'm also worried about the strength of an aluminum bed. He has hauled 1,000 lbs. rocks (not just 1000lbs of rocks) in the old one. I'm thinking its going to have to be a custom job.
