Seriously Jeff knows his stuff. The new ranking member of the 1914 subcommittee made some really good points. I can see where the 8 spd tranny would be an advantage as Jeff mentioned. My previous tractor was an 8 speed and it was pretty nice. The hst is just amazing though.

I'm interested in why. I've never used a LB1914 but from your description I cannot see any significant advantage over the CK20 gear. I know from sitting on one that the operator station was not as roomy. For the same money and year, why would you choose the LB?

I had really hoped the CK20S Gear was going to be an 8spd synchro when it came out.
As it is It does have bawls.....but after using the LB I got used to shifting on the fly and the shuttle.
I eye the CK20S HST on my lot as a TLB and think I ought to just buy it......
Then the wife reminds me that she wants a 40 if we buy anything.
BTW I only have 3 acres to take care of LOL

So I'll stick with nothing and enjoy them all.

Having owned both a CK20 TLB and a DKse40 TLB I gotta say that you are both correct. Both are great. I'd probably go for the 20 if dealing with 3 acres though. It was a perfect machine for that size lot. Then again, I've been spoiled by the KL401 and don't think I could do without it.

I've had an LB1914 since 12-05. Not sure what specs you need but here are a few from the literature I have.
Eng HP 20.5 @2800rpm
PTO HP 17.1
PTO speeds 540 & 1000
Fuel tank 5.5 gal
Travel Speed 8F/8R
Power Steering Standard equipment
Hitch lift cap 1323 lbs
KL1210 FEL 850 lbs to full height

KL1210 will do 850 to full ht
KL102 will do 770 to full ht
The 1210 was made by KMW
The 102 was made by SMC (Rhino)
It was some of the 1210's that had the smaller buckets, I mistated that in my original post.
The 102's all had the same depth bucket, some were 48" some 54"

My wife keeps reminding me it's the 45S Cab on the lot that should be ours. I keep reminding her it's still not.

We have a Ck20S TLB in the showroom.....nice!!!
