Hello all.

I have been looking for a Backhoe, and i have found that Italy have many backhoe manufacturer's, thats great to find manufactures here in Europe :). I know about Nardi and Mazzotti but i found that there is like a half a dozen more. One that i found is a brand called "Monago"

Here is a few pics of a Monago Raptor 230

Have any of you guys heard anything about this backhoe? Maybe someone of the fellow Europeans knows something about this?

Sure looks nice.

Thanks!

I'm sorry I can't help you with it, but it looks well made. I've always liked how European backhoes offset for trenching, and fold up nice and compact to the back of the tractor. I wonder why no US manufacturer makes them that way. Would none of us be willing to pay for it?

Yes it´s seems nice with the side-shift. I agree, its strange that side-shift types has no market in US, even the Italien Nardi Backhoe witch i know has some distributers in US comes with center pivot type though almost all Nardis in Europe is side-shift. And the side-shift seems always to have a bit more digging force then center pivot.

I have an Italian 8' Nardi backhoe. It's center pivot and does not offset.
But it sure is a nicely built and powerful little backhoe. I've had it for almost 4 years now and dug thousands of foot of trenches and many Oak trees out. That Monago Raptor 230 looks like a really nice well built unit. If you get one, let us know how it performs.

In the 3-pt backhoe market, the price point backhoes outsell the higher end backhoes about 3 - 1. So... while some people are willing to pay for stuff like a curved boom or the capability to offset, most are not.

I have not heard of that manufacturer. It looks very heavy and intended for
a skidsteer. I recently got back from 2 wks in Spain and Portugal and of the
hoe attachments I saw (not excavators), I saw only Bobcats. Several of
the skidsteers I saw had hoes attached.

Thanks for posting.

Mazzottis have been sold throughout the US, but I have yet to see one.

I think the Backhoe in the picture is 3 point for agriculture tractor. They are available for skidsteers as almost all brand of the Italien backhoes are.

Hello :)
I purchased an Italian brand backhoe from Tifermec and I have no complaints about it, built tough and appears to be very strong, I am glad I put a sub-frame on the tractor with it. Sorry I cannot help you with the brand you are looking at and hopefully you find one you like!
Best Wishes,
Chuck
