My truck is the SLE, which is the GMC equivalent of the LTZ Chevrolet, though some agrue that the GMC SLE has an further upgraded interior. I also have the short, not the long bed. My poor photographic skills may have distorted the scale, but it is not a long bed truck. The navigation system has been updated with new software is reportedly now is accurate. We will see...As for the thing in the bed, it is a bike rack which is removable it is meant to haul my race bike, another thing which cost me too much money. I am including a picture of it for review, as well as the family on pickup day at the dealer and my notoriously steep driveway, which is almost 30% grade at the top. Imagine that in winter... Thanks.

My software is only 2 months old..... Still not overly accurate.... Let me know, it might just be Michigan, Wisconsin, and Ohio that it sucks in......

I will keep you posted on the navigation system. Perhaps there is some variation in territories, but so far I have used it four or five times and it is right on the money each time. Builder, also when I mentioned about the Ford diesel comparo, it was mainly to say noting the differences between my recently sold 2008 250 6.4L and this current truck.

Wait a minute, you mean you had an '08 6.4L and sold it to buy this GMC? Didn't realize that.

Why did you decide to sell the Ford?

Where were you Duane. He had a King Ranch.... His neighbor bought it. He like to have different vehicles. ****, I think you posted a few times in the thread...:D

Yes, I did. I very much enjoyed my Ford 250. It was a great truck, but too large for me to regularly drive to work, something that I wanted to be able to do with whatever I bought. It thusly ended up sitting quite a bit, though I did manage to put about 22,000 miles per year on it (I would have put 30K on it otherwise). I really thought it was silly to have an old 150 that I drove around with 200K on it, and a nice truck not being used as much as I wanted. I have a neighbor who really wanted a new 250 and really liked my truck. I ended up selling it to him and buying this truck. Because it is lower and more manuverable I can use it both as a daily driver and for hauling/towing. Thus far the mileage has been better than expected, making it a practical daily driver also. It gets as good, if not slightly better than, my wife's MDX V6 Acura.

Oh no, I made a point to miss the 6.0L debacle. I was the first (I think) to get a 6.4L though. I hope the surprise that I read into your post, Duane, was that of trading a 2008 model truck for an '09, and not that you have second thoughts about your recommendations. I normally would not have traded this quickly, but actually I had my 6.4L for 2.25 years (I usually keep 3-4 years, unless I really like a vehicle, or unless someone offers me a king's ransom for it). I really like my wife's Acura and we have kept it about 5 years, and likely will run it another 1-2, so I really do not trade THAT often. So far, I have really liked my GMC. It has been a good choice seemingly for me and my current needs, which seem to be ever-changing. I have not put enough miles obviously on it yet to tell about its durability and longevity, but I have put enough on it to have some impression of its features and performance. I will also say that my dealer service person said one of his reps told him there had been some running programmer changes to eak out a few more ponies and some more pound feet of torque. I cannot attest to the validity of this, but I can say my truck feels quite a bit stronger than my friend's 2007.5 model (he is not happy about this finding), even though they share the same rear axle ratios and running hardware; his truck has but 21,000 miles on it. I am also getting better mileage than I expected with DPF in place. So far, so good.

Rob,

I used to race, Cat 3 on road, Cat 2 TT, and NORBA expert off road. With the wife and kids and a very busy job, I now mostly ride for fun (I'm old, too). I still occasionally line up for a masters road race or crit and do some challenge centuries also. That is my new ride to help my arthritic joints along the way. It's fast, too. (Faster than the rider on it--for sure).
